I'm sorry you are having so much trouble! I took Cymbalta for probably 2 years and it did help. I had excessive sweating from it though so I eventually went off it. The same thing happened when I tried Savella -- except with that it was really extreme sweating, so much so that my pain doc wanted me to stop the Savella since she feared I might become dehydrated. I've read posts from a lot of folks, though, who have had good luck with Cymbalta. My NP did tell me that it wasn't surprising that I had sweating with Savella since I had it with Cymbalta. Must be the two are the same general "type" of medications. I don't know what your "mean" med was but I will just say fyi that my daughter tried Elavil when she was in her late teens for fibro.
