FMS ForumsGeneral & SupportWhat is your most helpful Fibro tip?

I will be reading a thread here and come across a great tip that I will try to incorporate into my daily routine.

I thought that we could all benefit from hearing what coping tips work for others.

So I will start off with a tip that helps me a ton. I have trouble with balance and so I am often afraid that I will fall while walking. So I walk at Target at least once a week for as long as I can. I can hold on the basket for balance and I can walk as fast or slow as I need to. I always try to walk the whole store.

What tips do you have that might help others?

Good idea for a post, Traci ~~~

I think my best ""tip"" would be to ALWAYS pace yourself . (Not that I always listen to myself regarding this tip... LOL !!! But I try ~~~~)

Everything will get done in its' own time without stressing yourself about it or putting yourself on a guilt trip because it didn t get done.

OK.... my best tip is always do something that relaxes you and makes you feel good before going to bed, that way you sleep better Laughing

Listen to your body. Rest when it tells you to, to prevent a flare.

All great tips. Thanks Marilyn, Lynnette, and PCG.

Pacing should probably be on the list a few times. I try to pace myself and rest on a schedule so I don't over do it. On a day a feel very fatigued I do something for 20 minutes and rest for 10-20 before I allow myself to do more.

OK, I got one that I always forget but if you can incorporate it on your day to day it should help later on.

Write things down LOL, all questions to your docs most of all!

I have to go to the doc on Wednesday and I am now struggling to remember what I wanted to ask him LOL

So, avoid this situation by always carrying a notepad of some sort with you LOL

I have to go with the pacing yourself, it's so important not to overdo. Also avoid stressful situations and toxic people as much as you can!

I have to say that mine would be to get up every day & moive around, just a little more than you did the day before. Since I've been up & around more, I feel better. (At least for now! Wink)

yes, when I was able to move around more (not sit behind a desk for 8 plus hours) I felt better, not sure if it's the not moving thing, the sitting so much, the stress of working outside... I'm just way worse, if it wasn't for the Lyrica I'm sure I wouldn't be working as of now...
