Hi Donna Smile

Good to see you here ~~~ Glad to read that you re feeling better and pray that it continues.

I m taking an afternoon break ~~~ Have been pretty busy since this morning, catching up with odds and ends and checking out the garden. Going to work later this afternoon until near midnight or whenever I can get out of there again . Pray the A/C continues to function as it should ~~~

I ve been trying to stay inside to escape the miserable heat and humidity for that last couple of months ...LOL !!! Not easy to do this time of year ~~~

I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Oh! Please don't flush unused pills. You can probably return them to the pharmacy and ask them to dispose of them properly. Or ask your doctor to take care of them. Some hospitals will also take them for proper disposal. If they are flushed they go into our water system and can't always be filtered out as well as we'd hope.

Many hugs!

Red

I was told to flush them for safety. I now need to figure out what to do with 2 months worth of unused Copaxone injections, def can't flush those. I will probably bring them to the pharmacy to dispose. Wink

Flush it used to always be the advice given. Now docs are telling us not to do that anymore. More and more confusion. I'm told our local hospital destroys unused medications by incinerating them which also seems strange to me. I don't know how other places dispose of them. I think doc's offices send them out with their other medical waste but I'm not sure of that. So -- what to do, what to do........... Dizzy Dizzy

Love ya!

Hi Donna,

My daughter takes lamictal and it works very well for her.

She did need to watch for a rash at first which could be deadly so I am assuming that is was you are talking about. That freaked my daughter out just a bit.

Redgirl is right! Flushing is no longer the method to follow. Turn them in to the pharmacy and GET A RECEIPT!! That way you can account for your pills, and everything is kept "kosher"!! LOL

You are correct again Redgirl. In my office, disgarded meds and expired samples had to go to the medical waste company. The nurses would have "pill popping fridays", when they would open exp. samples and have to pop each blister and take out the pill!! Then put it in the receptacle to be incinerated.

Oh well too late Wink I don't have anymore to dispose of. I guess the consensus is give them to the pharmacy to probably redistribute. Lovely thought! Sick
