Where are you in the country? I would start by Googling for FMS related organizations in your area if there are any. Otherwise, you might want to look at possible non-profits to pair with so they can help plan. Community events take a year or more in most cases. I've done non-profit startup and event planning, fundraising, etc. since high school and can tell you it takes time, planning, money and lots of red tape cutting. Look to any non-profit related to medicine, pain treatment, FMS, CFS, etc. Even support groups might have links. See if there's a local association of docs who will help with that sort of thing. Maybe they'll just agree to be major sponsors- community events need money, but you won't be able to collect it unless you use a non-profit. Feel free to PM me with questions!
