This is my third ear infection since April and the Urgent Care Dr thinks it could be viral, so I tried not taking the antibiotic this time. But, after 5 days I was feeling worse so I went ahead and starting taking it yesterday. I do not feel any better today!

I went to the ENT about 2 1/2 weeks ago about the two prior infections and he said he didn't see any fluid or infection and sent me home with some nasal spray (I have been on Allegra D also for about a year). I'm not able to get an appointment with him until Monday and this is driving me crazy.

Has anyone ever had a viral ear infection? Are the symptoms the same as bacterial? I have not had much luck finding any info on the internet about it.

More persistent cases they say are normally caused by a virus but at times can be bacterial which can effect your inner ear.
