MDJunction to me

neshama48"Having Crohn's Disease for over 26 years, in the first few years, it lonely and isolating.
Though now my disease is in a near perfect remission, my friends and family are sympathetic to me, but I can not talk to them about this disease. When I stumbled across MD Junction, and met others who had the same disease I was not alone in battling the disease. MD Junction is like a second family, without the judgement or guilt of having Crohn's Disease, but they do give you love and support.

I went today and they have scheduled me for a swallowing on July 21 at 8:30 am. I go for an Endoscopy and Colonscopy on July 26 at 2:45 pm.

While I was there, the physician assistant saw me first. She had me lay on the table and pressed on my upper breast, and then from under my breast to my lower belly. It hurt. She said that tenderness is all of your muscles be affected by your Fibromyalgia. Then the regular doctor came in and was discussing what was going to happen during the tests next week and so on. I asked him if the problem I was having with the constipation could be Irritable Bowel Symptom because of the Fibro. He said they do go hand in hand. He said some days it can be worse than others. They gave me some Miralax to try and get things moving. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him what my regular doctor had said to me when I asked so, I do have Fibro right. She had said well Fibro is just a term they use when they can't figure out what is really wrong with a patient, but that doesn't mean they will ever give up trying. The doctor's eyebrows went upwards and he said what?????????

Fibromyalgia, High Blood Pressure, Hypothyroidism/Hashimotos disorder, Asthma, Osteopeenia in back and Osteoporosis in hips, Osteoarthritis and neuropathy in right hand, IBS, arthritis, eye floaters and cataracts.

mjcolenc,

I totally understand. My regular Dr. couldn't tell me what was going on. He said it was arthritis. I asked to be sent to a Rheumotologist and that is where I got all my answers and she has been great. I still have flare ups but mostly I have it under control now. It is great to be able to pick up my grand daughter without feeling like I am going to die. Hang in there hun and gentle hugs to you.

Ellen

I dispense advice freely but you should take it with a grain of salt and do your homework and check with your doctor.
He gets paid more so he must know more. Right?

Hopes the dr appointments don't get too bad, and that you never get to hear such BULL from another dr as to tell you that fibro is an escape word...
Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes!

I'm an Advocate

I can't believe she said that!!! I bet he's gonna chew her a new one for that even with everything I've been dx'd with I can't get rid of Fibro lol it's a serious illness that drs do take serious. I've been to top notch drs at every hospital in Boston where people come from all over the world for care and the rheumies and neuros I have still won't take it away they say even with everything else I have a very severe case. Your PA is a knucklehead, yeah that's my new word lol it must have come with the Keppra, lots of new things coming with that lol. Tongue
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Love & Hugs, Stacey

There are alot of drs who feel it's a wastebasket term and treat accordingly. It's unfair to both those that do have it and to those that in fact don't but are labeled with it and noone looks for the true cause. I do have fm but for 10 yrs after getting that label noone wanted to look for anything else until I insisted and began dxing myself. It is one reason we aren't taken seriously by some of the medical community.
