My Pain Management doctor told me to start drinking juice with antioxidants. I was thinking I am paying a specialist and she tells me to drink juice? However, I have been drinking V8 Splash - it is full of vegetables and fruits and is delicious. I drink 2 glasses of this a day and I take an antioxidant supplement and I started taking B-12 for energy. Anyway, I feel so much better. I do not have the fatigue I use to have. I have ENERGY! YAHOO!!!!!!!! The V8 Splash has 1/2 cup vegetables and 1/2 cup of fruit which is how much you are suppose to have with each meal.

Just thought I would share. Try it and let me know if helps you too.

I'm glad you're feeling better with your juice.

My pain management doc also wanted me to try some juice he saw on Oprah. I'll call it "Oprah Juice" because I don't know really what it was. I think Acai or something like that.

Anyway he was going to charge me $75 a week for it. Not something I could afford. I already drink plenty of juice with antioxidents and it hasn't helped me one wit.

I no longer see this pain mgnt specialist because he was a nut who thought he could cure FM by vigorously working out the calcium deposits in all my joints. And charging me $600 a visit for the pleasure. He wouldn't prescribe anything for the intolerable pain he was causing. He said "You have to FEEL the pain!". My daughter grabbed me and pulled me out of there, both of us scared and crying and never went back.

Now I have horrid pain in my hips and knees where he did his "physical therapy" and since it's been 3 months since I last saw him I guess the pain there is never going to go away.

I really hope that no other FM patient ever finds their way to his office in Los Gatos, CA!!

I think Pain Management doctors are in it for the money (IMO.) I saw one a few years ago, and so did my hubby for back injections (facet injections.) Because of my insurance (he said) he could only do 3 vertebrae at a time then have me make an appointment for reevaluation and then schedule for three more. We went through these painful procedures 4 times each before we finally said enough is enough! Not to mention the BILLS!!!!

I'm seeing a PMS for an injury to my thumb from a car accident which the insurance is paying for, but he's charging well over $1,000 a procedure which takes about 15 minutes, and he overbooks his patients every day and rakes in the bucks. That guys treatment at least is working (prolotherapy and PRP skin graphting - injecing ones own healthy cells spun off from the blood back into the injured area - ouch.) The first guy with the facet injections would only give me Percocet 5 mg for the pain which was unbearable, and I said "but your a pain management specialist,) and the reply was some vague, idiotic answer like "I'm not even going there."
