MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

I was diagnosed with fibermyalgia a year ago, but I have had chronic pain for several years and Im only 25. However the last 6 months have been a really big stuggle. Not only do I have chronic, constant pain, I cant remember stuff anymore. Everything from memories of past experiences to every day conversions, I cant remember. Does anyone else have this problem? on top of this I have been getting migraines about once a week.

This is so very frustrating!! I cant help but wonder if it will ever get better....

I also have this problem and it is with short term memory. I can remember things from the past (some which I would prefer to forget), but when it comes to simple things like 1) Did I just take that med or didn't I? or 2) I was about to get up off the couch to do something but I haven't a clue as to what it was or 3) I will ask the same questions to my daughter and hubby over and over and not recall that I asked and they will say "you just said that"....yes...I completely have this effect! I am not sure if it is the meds, the fibro, or a combo of both which I assume it is. I was just telling my hubby last night...if I could pick between having to lose long term or short term I am pretty sure it would be long term. Horrible, I guess that is the bargaining part of grief. Keep your head up high and know that there are others like myself that feel and experience the same thing.

welcome taren,

i have the same kind of problem with short term memory as "asishallbe" - reeaaallly frustrating!

i don't know about the long term - maybe you should check with your doc to be sure it's not related to anything else.

just hold on, there is help out there but it's a process.

gentle hugs,

gail

Hi there! welcome Smile

I do have memory problems as well, I've had chronic pain for 6 or 7 years now...but the memory thing started last year and is getting worse by the day...

Some days I am alright, some days I can't remember how was it that I got somewhere, let alone how....

You are not alone in this, in any of this, it's not much of a consolation, but rest assured that here you will always find people who understand, some one you don't have to explain what's happening, we are here for you Smile

Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes!

Hi and welcome to you both.

My fibro fog is ever present, but it kind of gets thick, then thins out again. I thought I was having a good day until I couldn't remember the name of the Vietnam vet POW who ran with Sarah Palin in the last election. I was writing a very well-thought out post on FB and had to refer to McCain as "What's his name"...

But I remember my name and my cat's. I set out to drive to Walmart yesterday and didn't get lost! I made it home, remembering I needed to stop at one more store and drove right to it Smile I only forgot one item AND I SHOPPED WITHOUT A LIST!! Laughing It's a miracle!
