MDJunction to me

Claire138"It's been a year since I joined the Parkinson's Disease Support Group on MDJunction and all I can say is thank you all for the support, compassion and friendship I've received and been able to give as well. It was a lonely night when I came upon this site, but the nights aren't that lonely anymore...
With gratitude to all...

I'll join as soon as I put my optomistic face--the one I usually wear--back on! Just hugged the kitties and gave them treats, limping all the way...

thanks so much for this post! I've always said if I ever get a tattoo it will say resiliency on my inner arm so I can always read it and reaffirm it. Oh, but what fm sufferer wants a tatoo? not me. Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean, krishna915! My family and I joke that I should get my name tattooed on the inside of my wrist so I don't forget it! LOL I agree though I don't think that anyone with fibro would willing cause themselves more pain, jsut for a tatoo.Dizzy Smile

Hi Everyone! Wow, Foggy...that's about how I feel on a daily basis. I swear my brain is never attached, but I do try to stay positive and not give in to Fibro. So count me in too!

PS. I live in Phoenix, AZ! It's neat that we can all chat from all parts of the globe!Smile

Warmly,

Hi,

I hope you're having a good day. I've been away from md junction for a few weeks. Too busy and stressed with school beginning. I just have to notice when I feel overwhelmed and then cut the to-do list right then. Only what's mandatory. I wonder if fm goes along with perfectionism? I know it goes with fogginess! I sent a kid to the office the other day and later that afternoon I couldn't remember what he'd done. I really need a video camera attached to my forehead.

Stick notes dear are a fibrowarriors best friend! lol I have bought so many I practically own the company! lol I make a "have to" list and then star the "really have" to items on that list and those are the ones that I usually get about half done.

Thinking of sticky notes, when I was first diagnosed with fms, I went to a support group for awhile. The leader,an RN, also had fms. My first meeting I sat there feeling like sitting by the door in case I wanted to make a fast retreat. I felt soooo discouraged and alone. Well, when the nurse arrived, I knew I was not alone any longer. She walked in wearing a full apron covered in sticky notes with reminders for everything under the sun!!!! Everyone laughed knowing exactly where she was coming from and the meeting was off to a friendly start. It felt so good to be with folks who understood me. I was not alone. I've found that to be true with just about anything. There are those who know pretty much how I feel because they are going through or have gone through the same or similar circumstances. Knowing folks are around who understand and care keeps me in a much more positive state of mind. (Thank you my "foggy" friends for your caring understanding!)Smile
Take very good care of you!!! You deserve it!!!

FIBROMIGHTY! I just went back to your first post on this one, Batgirl. That word made me smile. I'm thinking that all of my experience with this fibro-challenged-body has truly added a strength to my spirit that I may have missed otherwise. Now, I'm not saying I'm glad I have the challenge........not there at this point........lol. And, I wouldn't mind miraculous healing. But the learning that has come from the challenge is not to be denied. I believe it has brought me strength in other ways, and has also brought wonderful people into my life. I believe my understanding of other challenged folks has been strengthened too. Every challenge in life brings learning and strength if we allow ourselves to "muscle through it." So my fibromighty friends, I am blessed to be "working out" with you all!
Take very good care of you!!! You deserve it!!!
