This post is somewhat long so if you want you can skip down to the bottom for the question...Thanks!

I had my second appointment with my chiro today. to discuss the xrays of my spine and the electric nerve test that he did on friday.

He took both a front on xray and a side view of my spine. It shows that I have compression in my spine around my shoulders, and my low back...as well as a reverse curvature in my neck, which has caused bone spures in my spine.

the nerve testing shows several areas on my right that are extremely overcompensating for my left side, which is not typical in "normal" results of my age. It means that this has been going on for years probably.

he did some slight stretching of my lower back, taking it slow as to not hurt it and my fibro. And he adjusted my neck..

the goal is to hopefully correct the curvature of my neck as much as possible, but mostly to keep it from getting worse..where I would have the hunched over grandma look. As well as open up some of the compression in my spine.

***Has anyone else had experiences with chiro care and pain relief in general? If so how long did you go for and how often?(I know everyone is different, im just curious)

Thanks for reading!

Good morning, tntmom,

It sounds as if your chiro is definitely on top of what is going on with your spine and neck areas. That is a very good ~~~

Many times I have considered going to the chiro because I have frequent (not continuous tho') back pain as well as nasty ""cracking"" going on in my neck , but was somewhat afraid that all the poking and probing a chiro might do would send me into a terrible flare.

That said, I guess I would still consider going at some point ....

I m sorry I can t answer your question but I m sure someone else here will be able to. I remember reading that others have been treated by a chiro and they should be of help in answering . Smile

Have a great day ~~~

Marilyn

Hi tntmom -- Yes. I've had chiro care and have had really good results with it. You want to be careful with the kind of chiro care you get in my opinion tho. The stretching kind is much better than the "back cracking" kind for me and it is much more gentle. I've also had massage in the chiro's office and the person who did that (not the chiro) was very gentle and didn't try to do the deep tissue massage that a lot of massage therapists think they can do even when you tell them you have fibro and that isn't what you want. Best of luck with the chiro! I hope it really helps you.

Electra- Try starting your own post. I think you'll probably have better luck with that. Good luck.
