It has been a while since I visited MDJunction due to family issues. My son, now diagnosed as Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder, was in rehab for 30 days after we (me and my parents) kicked him out of their house due to drug addiction. He was homeless for months, jumping from house to house. At some point he sold his car to pay for a shoplifting charge. Needless to say, I am a mess.

He is clean, but the mood disorder is extremely hard to deal with. I am renting an apartment for him and living there with him 5 days a week - My father takes over on the weekends. Our plan is to stay with him until he gets a steady job and is (seems) serious about his recovery.

His abusive behavior (mental not physical), is hurting me. He tells me that I am lazy and useless and doesn't care to learn about fibromyalgia. I took a few days off - Now I am back and wondering how I will deal with all of this.

Anyway, I received a lot of support from this group when I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

Please pray for my son. Thank you.

I'm an Advocate

Welcome back! I'm sorry you are going through a rough time with your family. I myself suffer from Bipolar Disorder and it was extremely difficult for several years until I was stabilized over a year ago after alot of trial and error. I just wanted to share that with you and let you know with the proper treatment, support and alot of time and patience things can work out ok in the end. Bipolar is not cureable but it is manageable with the proper meds. I wish you the best of luck and will hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Keep posting we are here! If your son is up to it maybe you could get him to join MDJ, I am also a GL in the Bipolar II Group and many of the members have both BP and BPD he could meet many wonderful people who relate and understand what he's going through. Well I don't need to tell you how great MDJ is Wink Just a thought. Big hugs, Stacey
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

"Just because we have the right to disagree with a person, does NOT give us the right to disrespect that person."

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Love & Hugs, Stacey

My advice is free, completely anecdotal, and comes from my own experience. Always talk to your doctor before you change anything.
