MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

Talk about exhaustion, chest pains, barely being able to breathe and all over crappy feelings!

I hate the POTS, and really wish they could fix my BP rather than just regulating my heart rate!

Please pray that this episode passes quickly for me?

Jennifer

I've got the same problem Jennifer. I'm knocking back salt and rehydration fluids this morning trying to get myself together enough to be able to drive and go to work, it's really not fun. Do you find your BP crashes in your sleep and you wake up feeling terrible?

Ooh and I saw my GP tonight. He feels he knows better than both the rheumy (fibro specialist) and cardiologist and said triumphantly that the POTS diagnosis is in doubt because the symptoms fluctuate and aren't constant all the time. Obviously he's never heard of grade 1, 2 or 3 POTS. Wen he tried to explain to me that controlling my BP wouldn't affect my heart rate, that was the end of the conversation. The man doesn't know what he's talking about.

He did grudgingly give me the prescription for the Florinef as the cardio requested, so I'm hoping that turns out to be helpful. This is the same GP who insisted there was no such thing as vit b12 injections for fatigue, and if there were he'd know about it. (I now have them monthly from a rheumy who doesn't seem to be a figment of my imagination?)

He was not remotely interested in helping with or talking about the dizziness, blurry vision, nausea, exhaustion, being too ill to drive 4 work days this month, or a hr of 150 just walking across a room btw. I changed my GP as I left the surgery.

I'd be enjoying feeling assertive and strong if I wasn't so flaming mad!

wow rainmist...what a knob your doctor is. I still say my doc is related to yours! Got pretty much the same answers in regard to vitamins as you did. They must think that we are all really dumb and can't or don't read. I hope the floinef helps. I wish your doc could live for one day in your body...then, THEN maybe MAYBE he'd understand better!

You should be feeling assertive and strong. Good for you!

wishing you luck.

My advice is free, completely anecdotal, and comes from my own experience. Always talk to your doctor before you change anything.
