I have called physicians in a 50 mile radius and none take new medicare patients. I am in a large area with a huge medical community.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are so depressed, my heart goes out to you. I suffered like that too, wondering what the heck happened to me and my life, it was awful. I was embarrased to speak to my doctor about it as I was never "that" person, I was always happy. I finally spoke to him and sought some counseling, two great decisions. I was put on Cymbalta and it makes such a huge difference in my life, it even helps with the pain a bit. I'm able to get mine free through the company as I would not be able to afford the co-pay through medicare. I'm going to add you to my prayers that you can find the proper treatment to help you. Please keep us posted.

Ty Broken. I have been battling depression for a couple years but I have done ok with it. I have some anxiety too. If I knew what was causing it, i would feel better. It started when I went thru early menopause. That was my only symptom and my periods stopped. That was 3 or 4 yrs ago. That is when my illness seemed to progress and my pain increased all over. I got a pain management dr. I love him. i wish he was my regular doc too. I wonder at times if it is a side effect of any of a combination of drugs or just part of my illness. The reason I think it might be related to my hormones is that I cry for no reason, I mean it doesn't take anything to instigate it.

I will talk to my dr about it Tuesday.

Hi Blair!

I've not read any of the posts, so I'm just answering your initial post.

I TOTALLY know what you're going through. I not only have FM,but also, abt 7 yrs ago I had my final of 4 botched back surgeries which left me disabled, in pain, and very, very depressed.

You mentioned you cry for no reason. You HAVE a reason, it's your pain and depression...it's just that when you cry, you're not consciously thinking about it, but your body is reminding your mind, therefore, you cry. It's a HORRIBLE feeling, and one that I'm happy to say has partially lifted. I don't know why it did...I've been on Wellbutrin XL for abt 20 years...[I can't tolerate any other antidepressant]..sometimes I feel just 'ok', and others I wallow in the depths of Hell. I wish I had an answer...obviously, I don't...if I DID, I'd not be depressed either. I don't know how much comfort this is, but know that there's someone 'out there' who has experienced what you're now going through, got through it, [and I don't know HOW] and am here to listen and talk anytime you need.
