I lived in the Northwest corner. For a while in Rogers, then Fayetteville then Huntsville.

There is definitely a form of truth to this topic. During these past few weeks, there have been storm after storm in the Atlantic and in the Gulf. Along with these storms, my pain has increased by 80% and so has my depression and anxiety. So I have to agree that the weather affects our pains.

I've had this horrid disease for 10 years now. I don't remember the weather affecting me too badly in the beginning, but I don't think I was keeping track back then.

Now, my body knows when a storm is coming, especially rain. And the heat is so terrible that I can't function.

It has been so hot here this past week. Today I spent the entire day laying on my bed with the fan on me while my family was off swimming and having fun.

I'm just glad I live where there is no snow. I can't imagine how bad that would be.

Storms, cold, damp and rainy weather hurts me alot. Winter is a bad time for me, I can tell when bad weather is on its way before it even gets to where I live. I make a great weather forcaster sometimes.lol Never paid attention when the moon was full if my pain was worst, got to check that out. wow

Storms and wind affect me but I seem to have far more trouble when there is a full moon.

Cold, damp, and rainy is the worst for me too...I can usually tell when a front is coming in that will produce that type of weather. Here in NE Ohio we have a lot of it, and snow too in the winter. I dread winter. I hate the short days when the sun sets at 4:30 in the afternoon, it is so depressing, and I want to sleep more. When it snows, I have to unbury my car because we have no garage, it makes the fibro act up,and it takes forever just to get out and about with all the layers of clothes you have to wear. Not to mention the icy parking lots and sidewalks and fear of wiping out, which has happened to me more than once. Ouch. I am depressed just thinking about all of this ahead, and it will be starting soon, sometimes as early as the end of October. I think I have SAD, seasonal affective disorder, which means that lack of enough sunlight each day triggers depression and low energy, two things I am already dealing with. I get the flu shot, but I usually end up with colds and flu anyway, and end up in bed for days. Sometimes I'll just have finally recovered from a virus, and I'll get another one on top of it. My immune system is bad once I get sick for the first time. It seems like I never have the stamina to recover fully until spring. The flu turns into bronchitis, and I have asthma, so I always worry about pneumonia. Sigh.

Anyone else dreading winter?

Yes I am! I've always hated winter even before I was diagnosed with FM, now I'm horrified of when winter comes, first of all I have to walk my daughter to the bus stop, it's about 2 1/2 blocks away and it's downhill,so walking back up the hill totally kicks my butt when my legs are killing me, and that is today of course, not to mention that where I live it takes days before they come and plow our streets , so it's always very icy and slippery, it's a NIGHTMARE. I'm only 35 but my body feels like it's 75. I dont think I'm gonna do well this winter when it comes to taking my kid to the bus stop,we only have one vehicle and my hubby uses it to go to work...UGGGGH! I wish you well hun, good luck with everything.

I'm with you hipmama, although I am lucky because my hubby doesn't let me do any of the snow shoveling or clearing the cars. I haven't been diagnosed with SAD but I did have a supervisor years ago tell me that I'm definitely a different person in the winter months than I am spring/summer.
