MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

I took this out of my diary because the past few days it is getting worse and worse. I realized I need some input on this or else it is just going to stress me out even more so here it is out of my diary today.

Sometimes I feel like I am going crazy. Depressed, then happy, then determined, then angry, then frusterated, back to depressed, then cheerful. Last night I seriously thought am I bipolar? I am havingsome serious swingage going on. What in the world? I prefer to contribute it to me not having the Cymbalta and my body adjusting to new doses of meds, and maybe a little PMS sprinkled on top for fun. But good gosh! I am driving myself crazy. I am going going going all of the time and now it seems my moods are changing so much! Hopefully I get my meds soon. Do you think it's just PMS and stress emotional/physical or can Fibro kick you into being depressed or being bipolar? Even in my posts I can see my mood change from frusterated in the beginning to laughing or happy in the end. what a weirdo? :? Is anyone else experiencing severe mood swings or has anyone found a way to help with this?

I told my OB about that same issue and he put me on Yaz birth control it's not for bc because my husband is fixed. He said it was PMDD and also now I am on Cymbalta. My hormal freak outs are gone now I am mellow most of the time instead of up and down. I still laugh and cry but it's not all the time and at the drop of a hat. I was never depressed just hormonal the only thing besides the mood swings that I have noticed change is I used to be fearful of silly things like the dark etc and now I am not I will walk all over at night and have no issue at all. I would talk to your OB if you haven't already. However if you are out of Cymbalta that might be the issue there if while you were on it you were fine. Dunno just thought I would give you my experience of ups and downs.

I think I tried Yaz once and I did pretty well with it. But I can't take birth control pills because I forget to take them. Yes even if I put them next to my tooth brush. Oh another thing speaking of birth control I couldn't get my nuva ring this last month so it is my first time off of that in like 6 months as well. That could be messing with my hormones too. Hmm... I am meeting my new OB 9/5 I think I will talk to him about this and see what we can do. Thanks for the advice it really helped!

Your mood swings could be due to medication withdrawals or side effects, but you should definitely call your doctor and let her/him know how you're feeling. I hope you find some relief soon.

I had the same problem with forgetting to take birth control pills and I haven't taken them for years. When fibro struck, I had to get a pill box that has the days of the week and time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime) printed on it. If you make it a habit of filling your pill box each Sunday, you won't forget to take your pills. I was horrible at remembering to take medication and vitamins and this is the only thing that has worked for me.

I had those mood swings back in my late 30's. Come to find out they were peri-menopausal related symptoms. It was horrible to feel that way. They told me to take a Pamprin or I forgot what the other one is called and if it didn't help me out then they'd try some hormones.

I'm on Lexapro now for the mood swings and depression. It's worked like a charm and even helped calm down my panic attacks.
