I am 31 and have fibro and many other health problems. I also have a two year old. I feel so overwhelmed and useless. I feel like I don't attribute to society. How do you guys deal with this issue. I am still dealing with accepting I have fibro and can't be dependable. Half the time I stay depressed. My husband Has a hard time dealing with it. He wants to be supportive, but gets very dissappointed. I don't know how to deal with it. It is heavily affecting our marriage and we are totally stressed. Any Advice? And what kind of things can I do with my child to be active but not "move" alot. I want her to feel like I have done things with her and played with her and not just layed around. I wanted a child so much and then this happens. I know things happen for a reason, and things don't always go as planned, but this really was not in my plans.

I also feel guilty about my inability to work. I worked consistently for over 17 years and truly enjoyed my jobs...Now I feel useless. My antidepressant helps me maintain a somewhat positive outlook, but sometimes it is still difficult to deal with. I know you hurt, but try to do some light exercise (swimming is great), because it really does help. Just don't overdo it.

My son is 18, so I don't have the same challenges you encounter with your little one. I think it might help to educate both your husband and child (as much as possible) about fibro. Explain that you WANT to do more, but you just don't have it in you. If you could join a gym with a pool, you could swim with your child.

I think swimming with your child would be good or else just taking them to swim and sitting on the bench watching. Then they are excited and say mom watch this or mom look at this! They will remember it as a good time and enjoy showing off for you.

Sometimes it's hard to walk, talk, or even know what's going on in my own mind. But as long as I have a smile on my face I can give a little bit of sunshine!
