Thanks to a referral on a different site, I finally got myself in to a good rheumy and have been finally officially diagnosed! My last rheumy kept telling me depression was getting in the way of making a firm diagnosis, so the treatment plan was always left up to which antidepressant are we going to try next and here are more pain meds. Instead of having a rheumy who was a great listener but kept telling me it's all depression related, I found a great listener who knows and has researched FMS enough to give me a treatment plan so I now have some hope instead of the hopelessness I found.

It was tough to see her expression as she told me that she wished she could give me a different diagnosis due to the difficulties with treating this disorder.

And it wasn't easy hearing her say "I have to be honest with you and tell you that a lot of people only regain 50% of their normal activity level" or hear that my condition is severe enough that I can only exercise in a pool. But it was good to finally get a name to the symptoms and have a plan to try to get better. And of course I already knew all of this from talking with everyone on the support site and doing my own research.

Thanks again for all of your support,

Jeerie
