MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

As you may already know, I had my hearing on July 9th, and so far nothing. I was told by the Judge that he is sending me to the psychiatrist for "tests". They (SSA) are supposed to send me notification for the appointment, but so far nada. I have talked to my attorney rep. (Binder & Binder) and she says she has called the SSA office and they told her they are sending out the scheduling letter. I'm so nervous about the "tests". Has anyone else had to do this? Does anyone know what the tests are? The attorney told me that it lasts about 4 hours - ugh! I can't concentrate over 10 minutes.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Joan

I haven't been tested yet, but expect to be. I found this website that gives us an idea of what to expect...

I had the "tests". Had to go see the psychologist. It was a joke. I was in there less than 30 minutes, and the only test was repeat the numbers he just said in 15 minutes, or names. And who was the president during the Civil War, and what continent is Brazil on. It was a waste of my time.

I wouldnt be too worried about it.

WOW! I didn't know that at a hearing the judge could/would then request you to see their psychologist.?!

Almost a year ago, I had to see a SSA psychologist. They didn't ask my anything that wasn't already on my initial application form. I wasn't there but for like 15-30 minutes. I felt like it was a waste of my time, the psych's time, and taxpayer dollars.

I had a neuro psych eval once and it took like 4 hours. It was horrible! I had such a migraine when I left there!

From reading and hearing different things about these doctor and psych visit for SSA. I think everyone's is different. You'd think they'd all be the same. But nope.

Just take a deep breath. You'll be fine.

Doesn't it seem that they are questioning our story when they send people to a psychologist? It's almost insulting. A regular dr. I can understand, but we're not mentally ill, so why a psychologist?

I had to see the psychologist for my SSI case manager, who is helping me. I just answered some dumb questions, like remember these 5 things when I ask you in 10 minutes.LOL I couldn't remember even 3 of them. How about, Look at these pictures and tell me what's missing, I couldn't figure out most of them. I mean come on of course I couldn't do these things that's what I keep telling them, I have FIBRO FOG!!! : I have no idea what the point was either Cornbread.

I went to the pychologist for SSD.......for the life of me I don't know why. I thought maybe and Ortho but no they send to the pycholigist. I waited longer then I saw him I was in there for maybe 15mins. He showed me pics asked me who was the president. I told him the Bush Wacker was president....he didn't know what to say. He did some memory thing... I forgot what it was Something about remembering things in order....yeah right I can't even remember what I had for dinner last night.

Anywho 2 days later I get the famous deinal letter. What was the point of going. The therpist said I don't see why you shouldn't get SSD. I thought in was in the bag....nope not this time ...again. Don't be nervous about it. It goes by so quick...you'll be fine.. good luck

I think everyone or mostly everyone is sent for a psych test. I had two of them. One with each claim. The first one, it was cold and I hurt and I had fibro fog and cried during the entire exam. The second one, I hurt but didn't cry until I went to get up and couldn't get up from his chair because it was too painful. Both times were the same.

Remember these three items. What do these sayings mean to you. What is the capital of some state. Who is the current governor of the state of Ohio. ( I couldn't remember because I didn't know so I told him who the governor of Virginia was ) He told me and then asked before I left who the governor of Ohio was and I still couldn't remember.

It must be standard to have everyone go thru this bogus psych test.

May your troubles be less, Your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door!

Thank you all so much! It really helps to calm me down to know I'm not alone. I'll let you all know how it goes, IF it ever goes.

Gentle hugs to all,

Joan
