Thanks everyone for your great feedback and support so far. It really means a lot to have a place I can come and vent freely. I really can't do that at home because my parents are trying to take care of my grandmother, who has lung cancer, and my friends just don't understand. All they do is accuse me of being a bad friend because I don't pay enough attention to them and don't always feel like going out. (Except for one, and I am super grateful for her.)

Yesterday wasn't a bad day overall, and I felt pretty good until time for bed. My legs and hips started to hurt really badly, and I even tried to work one knot out while I was in a hot bath. When I woke up this morning, I could feel it was all hurting already, before I even got up. So far, I've had an 800 Motrin and have 2 lidocaine patches on. It's easing up a bit right now. My TMJ is really bothering me too, even though I wear my night guard. The whole left side of my face hurts (and occasionally the right, but left is worse) which also makes my eyes really light sensitive and stuff, too.

My docs told me it wouldn't get worse, it wasn't degenerative. If that's the case, why has this winter and now spring been 100x worse than ever before? I'm supposed to go on vacation with my one good girlfriend in July to Disney and I WILL go. If I have to rent a wheelchair, I WILL GO. I am not freaking stopping my life at 36. I'm not doing it.

But I'm so angry and so sad that I am 36 and absolutely feel like crap, all the time. And have nowhere to lean, except my faith, which is the only thing that gets me through.

Lori

I am sorry about your grandmother. I am sorry you are suffering, I wish I could say it would get better but with Fibro you just never know when it will. Everyone is so different, I do hope your pain let's up soon and you are able to enjoy a pain free or at least low pain vacation with your friend. That sounds great! I am in constant pain but I do suffer from multiple conditions so I don't even know anymore where all the pain is coming from or if it's all combined. I'm 32 and going bonkers lol! I may grab a wheel chair and come see Mickey with you Tongue

Cheer up and have a blast! Hugs, Stacey Wink

Thanks Stacey! I'm so sorry you suffer, too. It's a rough thing. Maybe when I get to the Happiest Place on Earth, it'll all feel magically better! Smile That's not until July, so maybe by then, I'll have had some relief and maybe some new advice from my rheumy!

Hi Lori,

I am sorry to hear re: your grandmother. I know what that is like as I took care of my dear dad while he went thru his treatments etc. for lung cancer. (I also lost an older brother to the same disease.)

You always have us to come to when you need to chat or vent about what you are feeling and how things are going in your life.

I love hearing you say ""I'm supposed to go on vacation with my one good girlfriend in July to Disney and I WILL go. If I have to rent a wheelchair, I WILL GO. I am not freaking stopping my life at 36. I'm not doing it"".

Continue to think that way ~~~ You go, Girl !!! ROOOOOAAAARRRRR !!! Wink

I'm also sorry to hear about your grandmother. My grandma died of the same thing. It was the worst time in my life. I still miss her terribly and it is now 20 years, almost to the day. I'm sorry you are suffering also. Perhaps you need to talk to your physicians and add some meds to make you feel better. That would be my first thoughts.

Its good that you will go on vacation. The wheel chair is a great idea. You can save your strength and have a wonderful time. We have to accommodate ourselves the best we can so we CAN continue to live our lives to the fullest.

I live not far from the "happiest place on earth". It will be very hot in July!! LOL Don't pack any sweaters!!LOL I hope you feel better very soon!!

I'm sorry about what your family is going through, your pain and your lack of support, except for the one good friend. Treasure her and don't let her go, good friends, truly good ones are hard to come by.

I too was happy to hear you say, you will do it even if it means a wheelchair. You'll be amazed at what you can overcome when you decide you refuse to let fibro take over your life. You go girl!!!! We're all here for you so vent as often as you want to, you're part our family now Smile

I am not a doctor and do not play one on these forums so please consult your physician for actual medical advice.

You go, girl! When you get ready to go to Disneyland, (World?) get a note from your doctor (whether yu need a wheelchair or not!) that explains why you can't stand in line and they'll give you (and your friend, I think) a pass to go straight to the exit of the ride and they'll get you on the ride from there, without your having to wait more than a few minutes! I did that when I took my kids to Disneyland a decade ago, because I have ADD (and had Chronic Fatigue) and couldn't stand for long. It helped a lot. Just take it easy, don't try to do too much, and you'll have a blast!!

My advice is free, completely anecdotal, and comes from my own experience. Always talk to your doctor before you change anything.
