i'm like starr, all day every day. even pain meds just take edge off to be tolerable. mornings i'm stiff and afternoons i start dragging, evenings pain is different, probably over doing it. i work all day on my feet moving to and fro so this i think helps then to work out stiffness. but even at night i wake up w/ hip, back and leg pain alot. miserable life really.

Janilee,

I too tried the soap it didn't work for me either my pain is worse in the morning then about 2/3 in the afternoon, then bed time,I've been trying to take a bath in the morning with the sports bath(batherapy)my muscels from head to toe are on a hateful strike against my bones I believe lately,

of course pain raises with activity but its worse when I stop doing things,

Its like a horrable trick if you dont move arond you are in for a very bad day if you get moving and feel a little betteryour in for a very hard night.Im always a 6-8 on the pain scale with spikes of 10

we all have alot to give if one gets the help then some of this suffering is worth it..

remeber I am not a doctor I just say what I think

It's definitely the worst for me first thing in the AM and right before bed. But really I have pain at around a 5-6 all day every day and it can go up to an 8 at night.

Lately I'm having foot troubles and when they hurt, my pain can spike to a 9. I'm reserving the "10" for the pain I had after some of my surgeries, and while at least that's only localized pain, it's still worse than my fibro pain.

My pain is horrible first thing in the morning. I told my husband it would be so nice for the first thing I noticed waking up would not be intense pain waking up is something I don't look forward to. I have to somehow get into the living room to help my daughter get around for preschool (her daddy takes her). My husband gets my 2 hydrocodones and then I lay there and hope my baby sleeps another hour until I can move better I still have pain but tolerable that I can move around. My pain lately has gotten so bad that I am just on Hydrocodones 7.5's 5 a day. My Rheumy is taking me off of Lyrica because I swelled up like a balloon and gained like 20 lbs. And cymbalta because he says I don't need it. So it leaves me with the narcotic and some vitamins for carpal tunnel and a tranquilzer to sleep.

Does exercise help your pain to get down some? Everytime I exercise I end up in so much pain the next day it's hardly tolerable. Anyone have any ideas for me that I can't get to a gym for the pool?

My pain is the very worst when I open my eyes in the morning and try to get out of bed. It takes me FOREVER to get moving in the mornings! Mornings are terrible for me.

Worst in the morning, almost as bad by the end of the day. I do ok for a few hours during the day, but that's when I'm working. LOL

I'm always in pain with no real pain meds (despite what they say about neurontin). Mornings are totally the worst though.

Pain has an element of blank;
It cannot recollect
When it began, or if there were
A day when it was not.

It has no future but itself,
Its infinite realms contain
Its past, enlightened to perceive
New periods of pain.

I can deal with the AM stiffness and pain but the evening and nighttime pain really gets to me. I would love to be able to watch a movie or just sit with my family and not feel like crying all the time. As far as a good nights sleep goes I don't remember one of those.

Spiritfilled, my PCP told me he wanted me to work out. But with my rehearsal and show schedule, I was always too exhausted and in too much pain, so it never happened.

My neuro yesterday said the same thing. He is concerned that the loss of sensation in my leg will worsen if I don't strengthen it. Plus, he reminded me that exercise releases natural endorphins, which make us feel better anyway. His advice to me? Take a Methadone right before I start and another one when I finish to help ward off the pain. Then as I get stronger, I may not need as much.

And Cori, you are such a gentle, loving soul. I just love you. Smile
