MDJunction to me

cinderella"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

I'm an Advocate

Hi Lagarto26 ... I don t believe I have welcomed you to our group yet so ... Welcome !! We hope you will come often and stay long.

I see you have already recieved some very good advice for your weight problems and your Fibro so there really isn t much I can say that would be an different.

After I read your initial post and then as I was reading replies the light that came on in my head was ""one day at a time, just take all of this one day at a time"". I know it would be hard but I have learned to do that sometimes and it really helps.

I really like the ""me time"" suggestion plus we all know that stress (and you seem to have plenty of it) plays a huge part of Fibro. I can tell when I m going to ""pay"" for a stressful situation so I try not to ""go there"" so I don t pay the consequences the next day or so.

Lagart, I hope you find the help you are seeking soon .. Please come back and talk with us. We would all like to help you.

As far as the weight gain goes, if I remember correctly you are pretty young, you might want to try cutting high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and hydrogenated vegetable oils out of your diet. They tend to trick your body into craving more of the food you are eating and so on and so on. Believe it or not, there is a lot of evidence that drinking diet sodas will actually create weight GAIN over time, not weight loss. If you are still young you can stop your body from getting in that habit. The AWESOME news about that suggestion is that there are many sweet things and salty snacks that do not have these nasty things in them. Most potato and corn chips, many candy bars, most straight-up chocolate, and almost all organic cookies! My biggest problem was cutting out soda...mmm, Dr. Pepper...So I started putting carbonated water (soda water) in 100% juice. Sometimes I even use a tablespoon of the frozen concentrate. This plan helped me to lose almost 50 pounds...of course, it didn't make me skinny, but I am not obese anymore...just slightly fluffy! Do some research online about these artificial food ingredients, you might be surprised that they are even legal...I am! Good luck!

The gals have givein you food for thought here, go to your local hospital and see someone at Financial office they can point you in the right direction for help with doctors and meds, they can go by your income and show them your bills and such. as for the weight society depicks that all woman be those skinny little things you see on your TV screen, come on now we know that some of us just are not like that and heredity has lots to do with it. Im a fluffy mom and grandma. Im 53 years old and its to late to worry about being skinny. I have been loseing weight only because I have cut down on my meals, instead of a plate full of food I use a bowl or small plate and thats what I eat. I have always liked food. as for stress the more you stress the more you eat, try to calm down and do something nice for you that dosent include eating, go for a walk, watch a good movie, read a good book, Listen to some music. Cinn...
