I see my fibro doctor about once a month or once every other month. I had an MRI done on my lower back because of the major pain i'm in and kept thinking I had disc issues or something. The MRI came back pretty normal - I have a mild case of Scoliosis and premature mild arthritis. I am only 33 people! Anyway, it feels like something is really wrong and we just can't get to the bottom of it. I have muscle spasms in my butt and my legs all day long. I'm on pain medication but it only seems to take the edge off. He also thinks it might be Sciatica since I'm having the leg and butt pain too. Sometimes when I bend over I can feel the pain in my back too. Is anyone else dealing with this or has gone through this? I should mention he did my MRI without contrast if that helps.

Thanks for any advise you have, i just love that I can come here and find support. Laughing

I have Sciatica and know the horrible pain.

The pain runs down my left butt cheek, the outside of my leg, and can go all the way to my foot.

I don't have alot of numbness episodes.

I describe it as scalding water flowing thru my veins.

I take 1200mg of Neurotin specifically for Sciatica.

I used to do heat only till I had a friend (on Sciatica Boards, Raoul) advise me to use ice and heat.

I was skeptical about the ice, but tried it. It works well.

Another thing I was told was to get up and walk when the pain is active. I did and was amazed how walking lessened the pain.

Before trying these things I did nothing but use heat and dared not walk.

I am so glad he gave me his advice.

Of course, I still have to use pain meds along with Neurotin.

If you can, go to the Sciatica boards and read the posts.

Very, very helpful.

I have Scoliosis and got into a car accident and broke off a piece of my spine now I have degenerative spine, arthritis. They say Scoliosis at certain degrees is painless unless triggered. Mine was in that accident. I found out two yrs ago my oldest daughter has it and now yesterday both my oldest and middle daughter both have it but slight thankfully one at 6 and one at 4 degrees. They don't send them anywhere until it's 10 and it's not serious until it's 20 degrees.

My husband has sciatica and a pinched nerve I never had that thankfully.

I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. rosieofsharon,

I would say you might have needed contrast it is good in ways it came clean if there was a rupture it should have been seen.

you might have to have an electrical study done to test your nerve in your leg, also maybe ask about PT

You guys are all so sweet. I'm sorry to hear that there is so much pain out there. It's so unbearable isn't it? I will definitely try the ice as I've been doing the heat and it only helps when I'm on it. The minute I walk away from the heat pad, the pain just comes right back. Are there any good stretches you guys do?

I suffer horrible lower back pain. I have many things going on but mostly spinal stenosis which is what causes most of the pain in my back. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering so much, you're in my prayers.
