I am new to this forum. And I need to connect with other FMS suffers like myself. I have been suffering with this damned illness since '96 and had seen more doctors than there are out there. Along with FMS I also have 4 cervical bulged disk, 2 lumbar slipped disks, chronic migraines, imsomnia, vertigo, to name a few. And as far as Fibromyalgia goes some doctors have a problems making the diagnosis, some believe some will not. It took me long to find a group of doctors to work with me. I had since finding my group of doctors moved to a different state and Have to start all over and am getting all fed up. Any suggestions on finding a pcp or general practitioner that will work with fibromyalgia patients in the state of CT. I am from NY and my orthopaedist and my gp had made the original DX after a long battle and tests. Please help! Thank you

Hi mfig,

Sorry I can't help you find a doctor--I'm on the wrong coast. Have you tried http://www.fmaware.org/site/PageServer? pagename=fibromyalgia

A fellow sufferer sent me that link today and while I haven't had time to explore it, it might be helpful for you finding new doctors.

Good luck with your search...

Hi Mfig

Welcome to our group. Someone here might be able to help you if they live in your area. I'm from the midwest so I don't know any Dr's in your area.

Welcome to the group! I live down south, so I don't have any suggestions for doctors. It must be difficult to leave a group of doctors that have been working with you. Hopefully someone in this group will be able to help you.

Welcome to the group Smile There are some amazing people in this community, and I hope you find the support you need here!

I will ask my friend in CT if she knows any good doctors. I live in CO, so I don't know of any on the top of my head or anything.

Welcome to our group mfig! I can really relate with you to the tee! I was diagnosed with FMS in 1995. I have 7 bulged and/or herniated cervical vertebrae (all of them.) I have degenerative disc disease and 3 herniations and bulges in my lower back. I have migraines (alot from the neck problems,) and terrible insomnia. As a matter of fact, I'm mad right now because I didn't go to bed until 3:00 A.M. and it's only 6:30 and I'm already wide awake (but tired.) You know what I mean, I'm sure.

You're sure in the right place. I can definately relate to going to every doctor in the book and still not finding the right one, but I finally (after YEARS) found one that's tolerable and will at least help ease some of the pain a bit, although I still feel like his lab experiment rather than his patient. It's so hard to find a good Dr.

I found a specialty surgeon for my husband's Acromegaly Pituitary Gland Tumor ONLINE just by arduous searching and not giving up. If you enter into google your state, doctor and the conditions most bothering you it will give you a start on some leads. You wont pop up with one right away, and you'll probably have to do some more pain in the butt searching, but at least I think you'll get some names. If I find anything I will post it hear or PM you with the info.

In the meantime a big (((((((((((hug))))))))))) and welcome from me. You are amongst friends. It was very helpful to me when I first joined, and even now when I'm feeling scared and alone, to go through old posts and those that are permanent on the board and just start reading and reading. Sometimes even a topic you wouldn't think would interest you might have some invaluable information. You can never have too much knowledge with this disease and I can't emphasize enough that you're in the right place!

Great your here and look forward to your future posts whether questions, just venting to talk, frustrations, or just in need of a friend. Come on in and let it all out. We're here for you!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. It really means alot. I had tried to google doctors here in CT but have come up clean. I get even more frustrated by the second here. I am seeing a chiropractor who is really nice and is really trying to help. Thanks again for the welcome
