"Because I have fibromyalgia" (tctaycun)

MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

I am trying to decide which would be best for me. I am hoping to receive posts from my fellow sufferers about what works for you. When I find the common denominator, I will start from there. Currently I take 5mg percoset every 6 hours.

It takes the edge off, but I need more. If I take more, than I am an addict. Please guide me along as to what most of you are doing.

Thanks for your help!

First, my doctor says that as long as you are taking medication for the pain (not just to feel good) then you are not going to become addicted.

Second, I take 10mg/500mg of hydrocodone 4 times a day, and on bad days it is still not enough so my doc tells me to take alieve or ibuprofen also. No tyelonol as that is too much acetomeniphen (sp???).

I'd say, talk to your doctor and if he/she is good, they will work with you to help you with the pain. I also use a TNS unit (got for back pain), ice & heat on the worse muscles/joints. Hot baths and I read a lot to try to take my mind off the pain. Helps sometimes.

Good luck with finding something. Another thing I have learned - you need to watch out for depression. It will increase the pain, and when you are fighting pain all the time it will wear you down and you will become depressed.

Gentle hugs and God Bless.

Joan

I take vicodin and advil as well. It's really hard to know what will work because everybody is so different. If you haven't had your vit d level and your thyroid levels checked, I suggest you do so. Vit d can help with pain. If your thyroid is low, it can make you feel drained.

There are days that I feel better than others. I can't say that the pain is really truly gone, but I survive most days
