MDJunction to me

cinderella"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hey everyone I am sorry I haven't been on here lately, I am not doing to good. Aches and pains are very bad here lately and my neck is starting to get stiff and painful again. I go to get my botox shots next week and I hope they help....I am scared to death about going back to that pain...I can't!!!!! I know that if that happens and with all the stress I have had here recently, that I will have a breakdown. I have held things in so long and I can't hold it in any longer...please keep me in your prayers. I love you all and hope you are doing well. Hope to hear from you guys soon. MANY HUGS, Daphne

Hi Daphne,

I'm so sorry you are suffering so. I understand how you feel right now. I'm in a bit of a similar situation because I am weaning off of my FMS meds, and I see my life going back in the direction I was on when I started here originally at MDJ... That is not a place I wish to go. So I can COMPLETELY get where you are coming from.

I hope for you that you can get the relief you need from these Botox injections--I really, really do. I will keep you in my thoughts right now. If you need someone to talk to, please feel free to send me a PM any time. Please be patient on a response, because I'm having computer troubles, and I'm trying to convert my files over to my laptop! ARGH... troubles on top of troubles.

Let me share with you a site that has helped me, if I may be so bold? The "How to Cope with Pain Blog" has been great! It may be found here: www.howtocopwithpain.org/ and it's been wonderful--there are a lot of great tips on how to cope, things you can do to be without drugs (meditation, visualization techniques, etc). It's a great place, and maybe it'll help you.

I hope this will help you if nothing else to know that you aren't alone.

Hugs,

jen Smile

P.S. Please don't apologize for being away when you need to be away. We all have to take breaks when life gets in our way. Get better really soon. Smile

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

First off remind yourself that you recognized what is happening and are being pro active. Your getting the shots. They worked the first time and they will work again. If you keep that positive thought you can help yourself to relax and take some of the stress off. The anxiety is just going to intensify the pain. I dont know for sure but try relaxation, hot/cold packs what ever...until the medicine is in and working. you'll be your old self soon.

Daphne, You are in my thoughts as well as my prayers right now! Hang in there/hold on tightly. Lean on us all, too. Yes agree with Ginag- you are taking dynamic steps- you are getting the shots. Yes, like Ginag says- try to think positively as positive thinking will help you to relax/keep calm plus help lower pain levels. Deep breathing, relaxation excercises even visualisation may well help you to feel less anxious for sure.

Someone said that humour is a way of taking an instant vacation, so try to fill your day with as much laughter as possible. Watch tv shows or films that make you laugh. Be with positive people or funny people- hang out with people who lift you higher, too.

Stay away from anthing negative or anyone who makes you feel upset or frightened in any way. Stay well clear of anything negative too - whether it be News on the tv or any place that makes you feel uneasy. Be in a good place with good people only.

If you can get hold of a Reader's Digest magazine then please do as they are brilliant- inspiring stories and humour snippets.

Am rooting for you massively. Praying for you big time.

Take excellent care of You- treat your fine self like you would a best friend too, be good to You please.

Warmest wishes, prayers, gentle hugs and much love Clarita Smile

( huge healing angel hugs winging their way to (i) You(i) right here right now, too )

Daphne,

I am sorry to hear that you are going thru (what sounds like a nasty flare) so much pain right now. Could it be from the stress of your cousins' accident etc. ? I know you were trying to be there for everyone else. Did you forget to take care of YOU also ?

I hope you find relief very soon ~~~

Marilyn

Daphne, I'm so sorry you are in so much pain Sad Try to keep yourself calm hon, and don't go into panic mode...it doesn't help. I'm mentioning that, because when my pain gets too high, I tend to get panicky. Deep breathing helps to try and stay calm. When we are in lots of pain, we have a tendency to breathe very shallow, and even hold our breath without being conscience of it. So, please breathe.

(((gentlest hugs)))

I hope relief will come soon!
