I have had fibro for about 8 years. It happened after 2 car accidents. I just found out today I have neuropathy in my ulnar nerve. This is my fourth nerve to be entrapped. Another surgery both my hands my foot and now my elbow. Does anyone else have this issue with nerves? I wonder if it is fibro or something else. HELP!

I have serious issues with nerve pain. I have an entraped nerve in my ulnar as well, and I have a mass effect in my spine pressing on a nerve that affects my right foot and leg. That kind of pain is awful. Nothing I have taken has relieved it except Cymbalta and I couldnt take it anymore.

I have tried Neurontin with no luck. I am on Topamax for it but it really doesnt work, I also take the Topamax for migraines.

I really need to get to a doctor about mine because I have no feeling in the bottom of my leg at all, and above my thigh. I sometimes drag my right foot because I cannot feel how to walk. I cannot sit for long because the pain is awful.

I hope you can find some relief!

Is this from fibro? What treatment are you getting for the ulnar nerve? I am afraid i am going to need surgery for the 4th time. I am getting an MRI tomorrow for a possible rotator cuff tear in the same arm. It seems all my connective tissues and nerves are a mess!

I have the same problems. I have had my ulnar nerve released, my right hand, I have had 6-7 surgeries(I just had hand surgery a week ago) and I have neuropathy in my right leg and foot. I have had back surgery, November 2007 and I was just told today that I need another much more invasive surgery on my back again. I am waiting for them to call me back to schedule the surgery. I wonder to if any of it is fibro related.

I have what may be some dumb questions, but I'm asking anyway. I don't know much about nerve neuropathy, except pain is involved. What symptoms do I need to watch for? How is this diagnosed? What is the treatment? My feet have begun hurting so badly! Don't know if the severe pain is caused by fibro, nerve neuropathy, or both. I just need more info about this.
Gentle Hugs,
Carla

I have tarsal tunnel, lumbar stenosis and RSD. Fibro is considered to be a central nervous system disorder...not sure if neuropathy is considered a part of that disorder or not???

I was in a car accident 4 years ago and had a severely pinched ulnar nerve. It was so bad I couldn't feel anything on the left half of my back or my pinky. Being, at the time, a very active 14-year-old, having half of my body basically not working made it really difficult to participate in much of anything. I went to massage therapy, the chiropractor, and physical therapy for 9 months before I had any sort of relief. The problem has now been fixed due to wrestling with a friend. He pushed me hard enough, and in a way, that cracked my neck. I had the worst headache of my life for about 6 hours but the next morning i could finally feel my hand again. I've been to many doctors since then and about 3/4th's of them say that fibro could have been inflamed worse than it was (or caused from) the car accident. The doctors have also told me that I will probably have to deal with flair ups of the "pinched nerve syndrome" for the rest of my life.

Thanks for all your replies. I is so hard not to feel crazy and people look at you like your a hypochondriac (sp?). I have been in and out of a boot for a year for my left foot. To explain neuropathy to Autumn it is numbness and pain at least for me. Half of the top of my foot is numb but then you have this oversensitive nerve pain. It is weird! My skin is super sensitive on my foot. My doc gave me a steroid shot in my big toe joint and I did not even feel it. It is different in my elbow and my hands more like a tired muscles and numbness in my elbow and fingers. My doc mentioned to me MS yesterday but I refuse to go there. I hope he was kidding! I don't think I could take fibro and MS. When my FMS first began I thought I was going to curl up and die but over the years I have learned to deal with the pain and how to manage it. I am having a big time flare right now along with facing arm surgery on my elbow and shoulder. My hubby tries to be supportive but he just does not get it and how could he really. I am so tired but I am not going to give in I have to get my nasty house clean! I think the whole family is out of clean underwear! HA HA! Have a great day every one!
