Ok this is a new one for me, I have been having awful muscle spasms in my feet and legs sometimes in my arms. I have never had them before so I am assuming its because of the fibro. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what can I do to make it stop?

I have this problem too, but I also have the spasms in my neck and lower back along with the places you mentioned. I would take a hot bath, but usually that wasn't enough, so I had to go beg my doctor for a muscle relaxer, first we tried flexeril, that didn't do anything for them, then we tried zanaflex, that worked for about a year and then I had to be switched to soma. Finally I have some relief, it is not a drastic change but it is more tolerable.

Sorry about your spasms, I know they suck bad! And I hope my rambling answer helped some!

That was one of my first symptoms. Terrible muscle cramps in my feet, legs, hips, under the ribs. But the worst most painful place for me was the cramps I would get in my groin.

Not only was I getting the cramps sleeping, but if I was walking or sitting at the desk at work.

I called my doctor and at first she had me take over the counter potassium and a small bottle of tonic water at night. The tonic water has quinine in it that is good for muscle spasms. That toned them down but they were still bad. Now along with that I take a RX potassium in the morning and Cymbalta.

All in all that has helped me a lot.It is very seldom that I get the muscle spams any more.

edited because today is a bad spelling day for me!!

If you go to the search engine at the top and type in Muscle spasms. I just found when we talked about it before. This might be helpful!

I take Flexeril 3 times a day if I need it. That helps tone them down, they still get real bad sometimes, I found that if I can get my body really warm they lessen. I take warm baths, wrap up in a blanket or just go to bed and cover up with my comforter. I also eat a lot of bananas for potassium, cuz the pill supplements upset my stomach and bananas taste better.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
