Since I am new here, I was just curious if most posters have both muscle and joint pain? I seem to have both. And do most of you feel very stiff in the morning? My shoulders, fingers and knee are very painful and stiff when I first get up and after my shower and some advil, I loosen up some.

I have both too. Mornings are hard . . . or if you have been in one position for too long. Try not to overdo it with the advil, too much with erode your stomach linning. Try to take it with food, preferably dairy (glass of milk or yogurt.

take care,

eve

Hi Eve, thanks for the response. I take my synthroid in the morning and that has to be on an empty stomach. So, then I wait an hour and have something light to eat and take the advil. I know it can be hard on the stomache. But, there doesn't seem to be much choice at this point. I think it has less damaging effects on other organs than tylenol though, don't you?

I'd be open to hearing what everone else is doing for morning pain and stiffness.

I have neck shoulder and knee pain all day long. My knees get better when I put my knee braces on. The pain gets a little better with all the medicines.

Barb, which meds are you on? I am just taking advil and when things get really bad flexeril at nite. I don't like taking it tough as it makes me so groggy.

I just bought a new gluc/chondroitin product made by Knox Gelatin. Will post if it works for me.

I too have both. I wake up in pain, have pain all day and go to bed with pain. I wake with my feet and legs feeling stiff and I've noticed that now on most days I have stiffness in my feet when I sit or lay down too long. But then of course if I do too much walking I start to limp!! Win, win situation

I have both. As long as I don't lie down, sit, or sleep, things keep limber. If I sit, lie or sleep I tend to stiffen up and hurt. You would think I would get more done.

Yes...that is it exactly! As long as I don't lie down, sit, or sleep, things keep limber. But if I stand or walk or do any kind of housework or yardwork for too long...I ache all over in every muscle and joint -- at least when I'm having a bad day. Sit still or lay down and rest -- stiffness. Move around and walk a lot or do work - pain!

And brain fog most of the time. No wonder I don't get more done! Might as well laugh as cry...

I know it sucks . . . my husband is always n my case (because he loves me), to keep a schedule. he would like me to keep to the minute, but i have 2 children and two dogs (1 8 month old labradoodle) . . . so it's really hard sometimes. and i also forget myself, and pretend i'm still wonderwoman. i do try my hardes to keep my nap schedule, or get physically sick . . . i keep trying that's all i can do. youmight want to try a schedule, as awful as it is . . .

take care
