Just wanted to give an update regarding my daughter. Her surgery has been postponed. The manufacturer of her shunt feels she should (hopefully) be ok at the one setting, as long as nothing else goes wrong and she doesn't need a higher setting. So, it's a waiting game now. Her dr. seemed to think she needed a higher setting because her ventricles are too small, but her shunt is stuck on the one setting & won't change to the higher setting. I am just praying she will be ok for a couple of years when the full revision will be required. That way it will save her from 2 surgeries. Thanks for all the support and prayers! By the way, my daughters name is Laura for those of you that wanted it to pray for her. |
