Hi Eve,

First thank you all for the info, I went out and bought the book and have started reading.

The cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxer and helps me sleep, although I can only tolerate 1/4 of the lowest dosage (I'm very sensitive to drugs). The rheumatoid Dr put me on this as he said fribro patients live in a constant state of muscle constriction through the day and at night it helps those muscles relax so you wake more refreshed. I tried Nortriptyline but it made me feel goofy. I like the tramadol because it doesn't mess with my stomach problems. I was told it works on the nerve endings for pain relief. I don't get any side effects. Some days are just bad and even the tramadol just takes the edge off.

I think I'm still in denial, it's hard to explain to people when I look healthy but feel like I was hit by a truck. I used to bike, roller blade, step aerobics, run..... all of which I can no longer participate in.

And my new husband of two years is having a hard time understanding how and why this happens to people.

I still have a hard time believing that I have to live with this for the rest of my life. I think that's why I keep looking . . . I hope that one day it will go away. I fought chronic endometriosis for 12 years . . . I know that the right surgery and surgen can make it go a way for a few years. I became sick hronically when I was 21, I had may surgeries and treaments between 10 yrs . . . and had a total of 5 good years, where I was me. and now, for almost 2 years . . . I have struggled with the fact that no surgery will make this better. I am moving from portland oregon to phoenix az in hope that it will help I need the warth and the dry weather . . . I suffer so when it is cold and damp.

My husband, has seen me suffer, and become well for almost 11 yrs. He thinks that I do not do enogh to make myself better . . . i should eat better, try harder to exercise. But is so hard . . . aside from the pain, I have 2 children, 8 and 9, and I try to give my family more than I should. I try not to let them know that I am over extending myself. There smiles and laughter keep me going. But he is patient too . . . he misses Me . . . an so do I . . . I want to be what I was 2 years ago . . . not what I have become. The doctors think that I had the predisposition for fibro . . . there were signs. My body just got tired and overwhelmed from too may surgeries and tests.

I have to see my doc before we move on th 18th and I'll ask for the cyclobenzaprine, I tried flexoril (my sister let me try some) and it was ok.

take care,

eve.

I have the Fibromyalgia: The first year book, and it is unbelievably helpful. It's amazing how informative it is. It's definitely written by someone that knows what FMS is.

A good website: http://www.fmaware.org

Another good one: http://fmnetnews.com/index.php

Good luck!!!

Where di dyou buy the book. I'm having a hard time finding it. Hastings does not have it in their data base. I tried Googling it and didn't come up with anything. Tried it with the authors name and came up with some different book. Someone tell me where to go

I found that amazon.com is a great place to find fibro books. Just go to www.amazon.com and type fibro in the search it will bring up hunderds of them. Sometimes you can even find used books there but new or used they are very reasonably price. I got most of my books there, another thing they do is keep track of the books you have bought and remind you of new books that have just came out.

Half.com is my favorite place to shop for books. You can often get new books at a fraction of the cost... and half.com is affiliated with eBay, so I've always been more comfy with that.
