Anyone ever heard of these things? Been doing some research and I can't quite figure out if "adrenal fatigue" is something real or something the holistic practitioners are trying to sell more supplements for. Found lots of articles on Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency) but I'm not really sure there's much of a difference.

Anyway, just curious. Researching other options besides Narcolepsy for my constant fatigue. And yes, I'm looking into CFS as well, though that's another one like fibro (and adrenal fatigue, it seems, though there is a saliva test for that one) that can never be "quite" diagnosed. You all know what I mean!

Love,
Naddya, CPhT(R)

Gabapentin 1,200mg/day
Tramadol 400mg/day
Tizanidine 4mg/bedtime
Amitriptyline 10mg/bedtime
Meloxicam 7.5mg/day
Fioricet as needed for migraine

There is just so much unknown right now in the medical field as always. Adrenal fatigue is very real...and it could have many causes...Just like any other part of our bodies our adrenals can be overloaded with toxins, parasites, poor circulation and the list goes on.

Personally I believe that most of our problem is the toxins in our bodies that can no longer be filtered properly because all of our filter organs are stopped up!

With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

Someone here a few weeks ago (a newbie maybe) was mentioning Adrenal Fatigue and suggested by something that I had posted that I should be checked or at the least, check out the information and group for myself.

I haven t done either yet ~~~ Guess I haven t truly felt bad enough or something .

Several months ago when I complained of being tired all the time, my PCP mentioned, in passing, being checked for CFS but we haven t talked about it since .

When I was hospitalized for those 6 days before Christmas they tested me for so many things and all of a sudden came in and said my Adrenal Functions were low instead of a normal 13-whatever they were running at a 2! They suspected Addisons Disease. They test you with a simple blood test. What they do is first test your adrenal functions, if they are low then they shoot you with cortisol steroid and wait exactly 30 minutes and take another blood test and then wait another 30 minutes and repeat. An Endocronologist overseas the results of something like this, she came in with me and asked how I was feeling. I didnt feel any different so she said she didnt feel it could be Addisons because with Addisons the injections of the Cortisol would have made me feel like a whole new person and given me more energy but it didnt really do that. Granted it was one time but she said I still should noticed an improvement so it has to be something else causing the adrenal levels to be so low so now I still have to get that worked out but have had so much going on I havent had time...it always something.

Long story short lol...Naddya, I think the Adrenal thing is something you should look into its simple and can answer alot. The whole CFS thing, Fibro causes just as much fatigue so I dont know why they spilt them into two sydromes now. Only CFS can actually go away. Good Luck. Wink

I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

Hi

Just when I think I've heard everything some new ifo. comes out. FM is still in the research stage and yes your right about the "Side show medicine man" who'll sell us anything. I can see where our adrenilin sysytem would play a part in the fatigue. Some say it's a lack of energy to the cells. Good luck with your research. Keep us poated.
