Hey ya'll!

I haven't been on here in forever. Mainly because I have been feeling great. I recently started seeing a physiatrist. He is amazing!!! I was refered to him from my primary care doctor. He has been giving trigger point injections in my back. They are helping tremendously. I am currently on vaccation. Since my last shots(three weeks ago) I have seen my PT once, traveled in a car for 10 hours, and changed my entire routine. Suprisingly I still feel great.

I'm staying with my grandmother who is an angel and works on my back when i'm having trouble. However, my pain has decreased SO much. I used to see my PT once a week, use anti-inflamatories daily, have my mom rub my back every night, and take scalding hot showers everyday just so I could move. Now I can take my showers at night when I prefer, I have more freedom to do what I want because less pain equals more energy.

I recomend trigger point injections! Hope you are all dooing well.

What are the injections? Cortisone? I had a horrible rheumatologist before that gave me 3 Cortisone shots in my back - 1 in the tail bone and 1 in each of the two bones in the lower back near the tail bone - this was one of the worst experiences of my life! I could barely walk and these shots left me in more pain than I had ever been in - I do not recommend Cortisone shots to anyone with Fibro!

I have had some trigger point injections with cortisone and I found some relief (my hand, my feet), but it was short lived. It only helped for about 3-4 weeks and then back to pain. I also had injections in my back several times which were of no help at all.

I am glad to hear they are working for you! Good luck!

The relief unfortunately only last a few weeks, but you can have the injections repeated. My doctor uses saline solution in the syringe.

Some injections can only be repeated after a certain amount of time, depending on what they inject you with. I had an injection in my foot and those injections I can only have every 4 months. I had mine foot injection about 1-2 months ago and I asked for another because the one I had has almost completely worn of and the doctor said no not for about two more months. I had an injection in my hand which didn't work at all so I had surgery last Thursday. So what I am saying is some work some don't and some you have to wait in between depending on the meds they injected. And bubbly you are right it seems that the ones that do work, work for a short time. My foot injection was the best, but I wish it would have lasted longer.
