When I left Cincinnati on 10/07 I was taking Lyrica, Vicoden 8 5/500 per day, Flexiril 3 times a day and Tramadol 2 or 3 times a day and Klonapin at night to sleep. Now after being here in Panama City Beach for 2 and half weeks I'm only taking my Lyrica and a Klonapin every other night. I'm not trying to brag, but I feel better than I have felt in almost 2 years. We came down to our condo here to allow my husband to recover from his surgery but in turn we both feel good. We got this condo here in May so that I could spend the winters where its warm instead of in Cincinnati where I am horrible pain all winter because of the cold. My question is does anyone else feel better around the ocean? It doesn't make much since does it. Could it have meaning, is there something to it. I'm not wanting to leave now.

I know I feel better when we go to Gulf Shores, AL on vacation. I love the sound of the ocean waves and walking on the beach. I'm sooo very glad that you are feeling better. Give your husband my best regards.

Enjoy yourself!!!!!

I'm so glad to hear your feeling. I'm not sure about the ocean thing since I live in Florida. Maybe I'm not close enough Hope your husbands recovery goes well and you both take some time just for yourselves

Hi, i am new here, but you talking about the ocean hit my heart. i have been going to the beach for two weeks for the past four year. i know i feel a little better at the beach. this year i had 6 days of being able to walk on the beach and actually lay in the sun. i haven't been able to do at all since i've been going. pain was under control with meds. just those 6 days i will not forget. unfortunately the cost of a home on the ocean is way out of most of our price ranges. have a good day.

Hi Hampton, welcome to the club. I don't know about the Ocean but I felt fantastic when I went to the Mountains in TN. Even my sugar count was better to the point that I didn't need to take the evening shot or else I'd go super low. After two days up there, my legs didn't hurt anymore and I actually felt like a person again. I have already asked my husband if we can retire in the Mountains. As soon as I got back to Ohio, I was back into the pain and no energy again.

I was diagnosed with fibro in July however, reading all the posts about the relationship of pain to the fibro, I must have had this for years and didn't know it. I've suffered with Chostochondritis since 1982. This is a great site and I thank all who post on it. One question I have is with the Lyrica. It said one of the side effects is weight gain. I can't afford any more weight gain. I've gained over 80 lbs now with the Diabetes medicine. Has anyone had a significant jump in weight since taking the Lyrica?

Janilee, I haven't had any weight gain on Lyrica. I've been taking it for 2 1/2 months. Were you near the water on your mountain trip?

Nope, not near any water on our trip.

I thought it might be the altidude that did it.

I do love the ocean though. I used to vactation in th Outer Banks in NC for years. I love to hear and watch the Oceans waves especially after a storm at sea.
