Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! This is great site with many nice people. I have had "rib" flares occasionally. (It eventually went away.) Take care of yourself!

Yeah, my chest pain goes up into my jaw and down my arm as well. I was rushed to the E.R. (I was working as a C.N.A. at the time and the nurse on the floor took one look at me...took my B.P. and said, "You're going". They ran all of the tests and said my heart was fine. They still gave me nitro and said to take it when it happens. I don't know if it helps or it's coincidence, but it only lasts like 10-15 minutes each time!

But, if you haven't had your heart checked. You may wanna do that just to rule that out! Ya just never know!

Thanks to Shapiro I learned this condition is called Costochondritis. This is common with Fibro but you do want to make sure that it is not a heart issue and not assume that it is Fibro related.

From Shap- costrochondritis (bad chest pain) is a common Fibromyalgia symptom. It's caused by the muscles & tissue between your ribs flaring

Thanks to everyone for the comments, it really does help knowing other people who suffer from this terrible disease. Yes, my heart also has been checked, everything ok there, Thank God! This was my first time experiencing this one the left side, very scary and the worst pain I've had in a while. Hugs and Thanks to everyone!
