Well, she is a regular MD with a "special interest" in rhumetology. (I know that's spelled wrong) She did her internship at a pain clinic and she treats many people with fibro. She was highly recommended to me by several people so I decided to give her a try. I am just thankful to have someone who takes me seriously.

BLB--I agree about nurses. And it takes a very special kind of person to do that kind of work. I know I could never do it. I admire anyone who can.

Thanks for the appriciation...The shortage of nurses are making the ones that are in this profession get really stressed out...I am so glad I don't work in the hospitals any more...they are so stressed because of burn out...

and yes it does take a person that can be cool under pressure as they say...

I see a Rhumie and my PCP which was the first to Dx me.

Hugs,
Barb

I am curious. When you go through nursing school, do they teach you about fibro? What do they say? Is it still considered a imagined illness?

No they don't....they really don't talk about diseases really...they teach you how the body works and the chemistry of the body. You have a small part they go through about the immune system, bacteria etc...chronic issues like heart failure, lung disease...etc but nothing like Fibro...you have to learn things on your own by the patients you care for and by research...the longer you are a nurse the more stuff you learn...I still learn new stuff everyday by the people I meet and what they have gone through and the new research out there.

Hmmm. Sounds like you do learn a lot of interesting information. Most of it I would love to learn if I could handle going to school. However, I know it involves a lot of things that I can't deal with. I can handle blood, but get rather queasy over other "bodily fluids".

Anyhow, thank you for answering my question.

I wonder if that's what I have. My eyes are always sore, and I thought it was from reading or using the computer too much or just plain allergies. I have a really hard time with pain and seeing in the morning or if I'm the least bit tired. Going to look it up on MedScape.

I'm so sorry for you people that have to work so much and are in such pain. I take pain killers all day long, and thankfully don't have to work.

Take Care you all.

Chris

I too have a hard time seeing in the morning and my eyes get sore. I notice that sometimes I can see ok but other times its really bad. When I had my eyes checked to see if I needed glasses, they said I just need reading glasses but didn't see anything else. Its been awhile so I need to go back (when I get the money lol) But my vision fluctuates and I don't know what causes the soreness. No I don't work, I lost my good jobs years ago, I tried working part time too and couldn't do it well either so I don't work at all right now.

I have REALLY dry eyes. I had one eye doctor tell me he had never seen such dry eyes. Some days it hurts to open them because they feel like sand paper.
