Hi everyone. I am having a bad couple of weeks because my symptoms keep changing and it seems as though I am always dealing with some new problem. I have to say it scares me and I always come here to get support because I think we can all understand each other.

My question is: Does anyone else have balance problems? I feel at times that I am off balance especially if I bend down and stand back up. Is this a symptoms of fibro? I know this is part of the nuerological aspect of it all, but I need to know others experience this. I have an appoitment with a new nuerologist next week because my old one basically did all nerve tests and mri's and when they all came back negative he basically didn't know what to do with me. So I am going to someone new who hopefully will listen and actually try to help me. I also have tingling that occurs at times which is another nuerological aspect to discuss with this new doctor. Thanks for listening!

I have dizziness issues every time I bend over, stand up too fast, or turn around. Basicly(sp) any time I move it can happen. Sometimes when I am walking I feel like I am leaning off to one side, and so I lean the other way and then I feel like I am going to fall over. Fun illness, huh?

Hi I have had terrible trouble with dizziness it lasted for 5 weeks they said it was postural vertigo,my Dr. at the time prescribed stemitel, mainly for the nausea it's a right royal pain when it happens.Hope you are feeling better soon. Malaluka

p.s. I'm not saying what you have is the same thing by the way.

thought I'd better point that out.

I have had vertigo problems for years and my went through all kinds of testing when I found out about fibro I learned that this too is another problem with fibro. Also read somewhere that thyroid problems are tied into it and I have been on thyroid meds for over 11yrs now. Looking back I have probably had this longer then I really knew. Recently at a wedding and the mother-of-the bride pulled me up to polka wow....alot of spinning in that I had to sit down asap cause everything was spinning....I know my vertigo problem so most of time I watch how I move...I usually have antivert on hand when I get real dizzy and can't move my head.

Wow it sounds like we all have some type of issue with balance. I guess it is another reason why this illness sucks!! It is so hard to function when you feel as though you can't stand still. I too like most of you have it come and go. I may be fine for a few days and then it comes back. I think one of the things that makes mine worse is stress. So I am going to start to try to calm down and maybe try some yoga or relaxation exercises. I am a teacher, so I had my last day yesterday, so I have 2 1/2 months to try to relax.

I have problems with my balance sometimes. I stumbel over things that are not there.

I have also learned that thyroid problems and fibro can go hand in hand. They also have a lot of the same symptoms. When I started doing research for my thyroid problems, it made sence to me. I had been having a lot of things go on that I never put together with thyroid. I would think that your doc would check for that, but they normaly dont.

Wow,I never knew that thyroid and fibro were so closely related, will have to some research I guess. Thanks for the heads up on that one. I have nausea almost all the time and haven't found a med I can take that helps.
