Ugh I have fallin more times this month then I have my whole life. I can be doing something and my legs just gives out. I have Fibro and RA and I think its killing me.I hart alot worse then i have in the past. I try and stay active since i do have 4 kids but I think its getting worse. I am on all kinds of meds and I know they are not the cause of my falling down since i haven't changed anything in a while. Does anyone else have this problem. I don't get to see my Rheumatologist tell the end of April. Im in pain 24/7 and my doctor is trying to help me but its not workingSilly I just want to know if others are falling down with fibro or RA.

Have you seen a Neurologist? I would suggest seeing one to see if there is also something else going on in addition to Fibromyalgia. Ask your Rheumatologist when you see him/her if you should see a Neurologist.

Be safe. Also just a suggestion if you call the Rheumatologist and ask them to call you if there are any cancellations before your appointment maybe you will be able to get in sooner. Let me know what happens. Smile

But being off balance is common with FIbromyalgia but be sure to talk to your Doctor about it. Be careful in the meantime.

I couldn't help but respond after reading your post.. I have been feeling like i'm about to lose my ability to walk and use my arms/hands...I can remember when i was 6 years old i was headed to the bus stop and lost all feeling in my legs..within a couple seconds i was back on my feet and off to school..While at school on my way to the restroom i felt weird in my legs and leaned over toward the wall...I never told my mother until recently.. it haven't happened since then but every now and then my arm goes weak and my hand go stiff, theres this crazy feeling and all i can do is think about moving but no response.. Hopefully i will be able to go to a doc soon..I'm going to go to every doc and specialist i can.. Prayers to you

Interesting that you should post this now. I have been falling down lately, too. 7 weeks ago, I fell in the driveway and a week later I fell on the tile floor in my house. That left me with a fractured scaphoid (wrist) that is still healing. I have always been clumsy, but it's been much worse lately. Hope you find some answers. I am just wearing sneakers and trying to be careful.

I go thru periods of time that I lose my balance often on a daily basis......which leads to falls a couple of times a week. During this time frame, I keep my hands near anything to grab onto to maintain my balance......especially the walls walking down the hallway. I hold onto the handrails on each side of the stairway. I tend to bump into things more easily during this time, too. I went thru a bunch of tests several years ago to check for MS......nothing found. From listening to other fibromites, this doesn't seem that unusual. Knowing this makes it less worrisome.

Gentle hugs,

My knees (hips and everything else) actually dislocates often causing me to fall. Have the drs done any xrays or MRIs on your knees to see if the RA is causing enough damage that it would cause this?

You should have a walker or a cane to keep you safe. In addition to having an orthopedic check, I think your heart should be evaluated for issues. Take care.

I've been using a 4-point cane whenever I am out of house to help keep me stable...otherwise, I will fall Sad

Hugs to you and hoping you feel better knowing we are all here for you!
