Hello, I'm new here. After years of pain and fatigue, depression etc, a Rheumatologist finally pinpointed what I had. In addition to Diabetes, Hypertension, CAD,and more, I recently added osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. I'm still trying to deal with this as I have always been very active but now I can hardly move without pain. To boot, the medication I take for my diabetes curbs my hunger to almost nothing yet I have gained over 75 lbs since going on it. My neighbor has also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and she's about 6 years younger than me. I'm 56 years old and too young to let this get me down. Any support I can get will help a bunch. It seems like my husband doesn't want to discuss the fibromyalgia nor does he want to be around me either.
May your troubles be less, Your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Janilee, Glad you found us. I know I've seen your posts on a couple of discussions but just wanted to say welcome. It can be very difficult when your spouse doesn't understand what your going through. Sometimes it's because they just don't get the pain we're going through and sometimes I think it's because the see the changes in how we are and they feel they're losing apart of us. Unfortunately I think some just can't communicate that feeling so instead of working with you to understand they withdrawl. You will find all kinds of support here and lots of understanding. Many have more than 1 diagnosis to complicate their lives. I too have diabetes and osteoporosis. I know how you feel about being too young for these diagnosis. I was 36 when they diagnosed osteoporsis. I wanted to say "excuse me old person disease my bones can't be that bad" unfortunatly they are.

Welcome Janilee,

I've been at this site for about a week and I can't get over how much we all have in common. Just know you are not alone and don't be afraid to discuss anything.

Rachel
