I have had terrable jaw pain that the Dr said was related to mayofacial pain and that I had a trigger point there. He wanted me to see an ENT just to be sure though. I went to the ENT, he said I had something called Eagle's Syndrome and had to have surgery. I decided to try the chiropractor before surgery, and it has done wonders. The pain in my jaw is gone as long as I go once a week or so. The pain is due to an elongated or displaced bone near the ear that puts pressure on the trigemineal(?) nerve and causes pain along the jaw, face, head and neck. I know some people suffer from jaw pain so I wanted to relay this.

I don't have pain but My jaw pops ever time I open a close my mouth. You can hear it when I eat to from across the table. I use to hate kissing lol (well I don't have to worry about that anymore) but it has seem to have gotten worse over time. I thought it was from getting hit in the jaw many years ago but it didn't come on till after I had fibro, so I don't know. I have yet to see a doctor for it. I also just read in a research article that jaw pain can cause ringing (noise) in the ears and that, yes, chiropractor can help with that too.

I have the popping also, and ringing. I think mine happened after a fall. I already had FMS so I assumed the pain was just a new symptome. Check out info on Eagle's syndrome.

very interesting thanks for sharing i have alot of the same problems. I was told TMJ and I'm a heavy teeth grinder, but there are times it seems I can pinpoint the pain right near the ear. I'll have to check this out further. Thanks again for sharing

I suffered from jaw pain for YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Even went the route of seeing a TMJ and orthofacial specialist for a year of splint therapy and meds. When none of it helped he concluded I had Fibromyalgia. Several doctors later confirmed that diagnosis. However, and this is huge, I was recently correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease after 20 freakin years. Ok back to the jaw pain, 5 years ago I got an inexpensive device from my doctor called an NTI, it was originally made for people who suffered from migraines. Anyhow if I ever go to bed without this wonderful miracle, the NTI (tension suppresion system), I suffer from jaw pain, hedache and neck pain. Rarely do I have pain unless I sleep without it. i would urge anyone that has jaw pain to try this, it was a million times better than a splint from the TMJ specialist. See link below: http://www.nti-tss.com/ Good luck and hope this helps!
