Hey. Im 22.

I hav had pains since i can remember, 3 maybe, just in my legs. When i was 12 or so my arms started to get sore, then my wrists. Then 16 my back started to give me grief. I was 18 when they finally told me i had Fibromyalgia, i had been going to the doctor for 10 years. My shoulders and my neck have gotten sore since then. Bad headaches, tummy problems, swelling in hands and feet, sencitive to light and sound, tired all the time, really depressed. No energy. Lack concentration

Just wanting to no if this is "normal". Having it from a young age and the symtoms worsening??

Also what other thing i hav to look foward to.

Thanx

Sorry about my bad spelling

Welcome to the group. Bad spelling huh...I didn't even notice, I type and talk exactly like that.

I feel like my symptoms are getting worse. they say fibro is not progressive, not sure I agree with that. I'm on Cymbalta for the muscle cramps and I think after awhile my body is building up an immunity to it and I don't get the same relief level that I used to.

I don't know, someone will come along who has a better answer.

WELCOME TO THE FIBRO FAMILY. Its good to have you join with us. And don't worry about your spelling. Some of us have good spelling days and some bad spelling days. And then we have some that just can't spell But you get caught up in going from one post to the next that after a while you don't hardly notice it.

As far as being progressive - I'm sorry sweetheart, I firmly believe that it is. And since I was "officially" diagnosed about 8 years ago I know now I have had it since I gave birth in 1981. And now that we know what the symptoms are - we now know that our daughter has had it since she was about 21, she is now 27 and we have seen her progress also. But everyone is different. sorry to be a downer ---but at least you're still young and they finally have a name for what the rest of us old timers was told it was just all in our minds. Hope you have a great weekend. Again, welcome

Well I want to say Welcome! I hope you find this site as helpful as I have. I was stricken with fibro back in Jan of 2000 after a surgery and after 8 doctors and a year finally diagnosed. My nana and Mother had and has a progressing disease. Progressing disease eventually ends your life and they claim fibro does not do that, but I have read where they say it can, but most likely doesn't get worse. Well thats a lie, I know mine has gotten worse and everyone I have spoken with who has it. I was of course disturbed by it and even worried about the future. Well its still scary with new symptoms arising but my advice is: Do not ever stop giving up hope and don't ever stop searching for help and answers and researching on your own. Don't ever stop trying to find what helps you weather its medication, diet, environment etc.. Don't ever rule out anything. If a doctor doesn't help then keep going to another one, and then another etc.. Make sure they are not missing anything like an underlining condition. There are so many articles on other conditions that are linked to or cause or misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have heard people mention thyroid, lyme, toxicity etc.. Don't rule out anything, and if it is just fibro, then don't stop searching for the right help and what works and helps you. Everyone here has really helped me, they have a lot of good advice and experiences. I hope you find it as helpful as I do. Welcome

Kari
