Thank you all for your input.I don't feel as bad as I did.I'm really losing faith in doctors quickly...due to the experiences I have. With all we {Fibro sufferers}go thru, with all the non-believers,rude comments, and just plain ignorance....at some point I thought it wouldn't hurt my feelings anymore.I've been putting up with this type of bs for over 20 years now .....it still hurts,I guess there will always be a person or people that just don't want to get it,understand it,or believe in the existance of Fibromyagia.

Thank you all again,I'm happy I have all of you to talk to.

JL I am so sorry for what that doctor said. Obviously he doesn't understand fibro and people who don't understand it should just keep their mouths closed.

I know there are people here with apnea who are not over weight so being thinner isn't a cure for apnea.- fricken idiot!

well I am sorry for your terrible experience, I too just had a very bad experience at the doctors just last week due to ignorance. I was told that from all the test I have had done in the past that I was running scared and that those are test that you see in people of older age and that they were done just to make me happy and that I watch too much TV. I said I don't watch TV and then he said "well, where ever you get your information from. Then proceeded to say its also anxiety and that any new major symptoms that are appearing are probably fibro. Then he said "What? Do you want me to send you to a neurologist? or some other doctor? Then he handed my file to his receptionist and said after the test I was having done was completed, and when I return, to send me to one of the other doctors in that office. So yes, when I left I felt so bad that I never wanted to go to another doctor again, even if I was dieing. NO one should ever leave a doctors office feeling that bad due to ignorance on their part.

I had a neurologist tell me that my symptoms were "just migraine". He said it is a syndrome and not just headaches. Well, that may be true but it sure isn't going to cause my whole body to hurt.

After treating me like a moron (at the time my doctor suspected that I had MS) for thinking I might have MS, he wrote a bunch of expensive prescriptions and I left, never to return. I never filled the prescriptions. Some doctors should be in a different line of work.

before I was diagnosed, but having a lot of problems. I passed out and was taken to the hospital. The wonderful doc there told me I was just constipated.

that was his explination for all of my pain and my passing out. He gave me a script for stool softeners and let me go.

I'll be praying for all of us to recieve some

compassion,and understanding from our doctors.

oh boy....idiot alert....idiot alert - tape to the back of his lab coat. I just hate going to new doctors. And new doctors don't like me because I come in loaded. I'n tired of paying my hard earned money for insurance and then the copay or even worse when it was self pay. Twice I have left the office and refused to pay the bill. And what is odd about that - is neither office ever sent me a bill. Sorry for what you went through, a lot of days we don't even want to leave our houses and then have to put up with that? Hope your next appt goes better. Kathy

ok, you're a better woman than me. I would not have held my tongue, and he would have known the proper defintion of fibro even in his sleep. arrogance coupled with a know-it-all attitude annoys the heck out of me and is anything but accurate and helpful.

my one doctor, who is no longer that, told me that laying around and being tired is no kind of life and that i need to just get up and go for a walk and a bike ride to enjoy life again. right, like now that you told me that i'm not enjoying my life as i should be i'll just jump off the examining table and jog down the stairs with pep, thanks for waking me up from my laziness!.....i'm not overweight, but he sure was, so maybe someone else needed a bike ride hmmm?...makes me so mad!

Sorry about your experience with that "Doctor". I noticed your subscript about you and your husband. My wife has fibro real bad. Some times intamacy is just holding hands. Just let him know that you love him with all your heart and mind. Let the physical stuff happen as it will. True love is stronger than this fibro junk. Lots of luck.
