I've already lost five pounds on the hypoglycemic diet that Iknowpain posted about! Yahoo!!!! It's not been easy, but if I can get to a point where washing my feet or tying my tennis shoes doesn't require holding my breath I'll be thrilled!!

AWESOME! How many days have you been on it?
When you stumble, make it part of the Dance

I am so excited for you. Keep it up and you will be tying your shoes with no problem in no time.
Favorite Poem :
It is such a relief when you first find out.
That the pain really does have a name,
And then you will ask (and everyone does),
"Just where can i place all the blame".
No matter the limits, no matter the pain,
There's no evil, cruel "Master Plan".
It just simply happens, It just simply is.
You adapt, and you change what you can.
But even with the knowing the best and the worst,
All the pitfalls the future could hold,
You still have a choice, you quit or you fight.
You determine the story that's told.
And every small step that we take, my dear friends,
Each battle that we slowly win,
Just credits the love and the caring we share
With the FMily that we call our friends.

Day 11 update: I'm down 9 pounds. In the middle of the eighth day I realized that my sugar cravings were gone!! I've also had much more energy since then. I must say, the first week was really hard. I have not cheated since that first day. I'm also finding that I'm not hungry at all! I do still have to consciously keep a glass of water next to me to drink, but overall, I'm happy with how it is going.

Again, thanks to IKP for her support!

I am so happy for you. I am happy to help, but you are the one doing the work. You need to give yourself kudos too.

Day 18: Conservatively, I've lost 13 pounds!! If I take what I weighed at my last doctor's visit, the total lost would be 16! I usually weigh myself each morning. I get up, go potty, strip to my birthday suit and weigh myself. My energy has been tons better! I'm getting household chores done, at least one load of laundry per day. I'm going out every day to run errands. And my pain level is down to about a 1-2. I still poop out by about 7:30 each night, and my memory is still hit or miss, but I feel more my old self than I have in a couple of years. Here's to me keeping it up!

Oh, I also picked up the book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia by R. Paul St. Amand, MD. He is the one who wrote the Hypoglycemic diet that I've been following. I can't wait to get into it and hear what he has to say.

I am soooo Proud of you Melly. It is amazing what a difference you feel on this diet. After you are done with this book you should also read "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia Fatigue" it is written by him as well and has additional info on the diet also. I am so happy it is helping you. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Keep up the good work!!!! W00t
