Im not sure but in the last two months I have gained 20lb that's another reason they took me off of cymbalta.
Psalm 91

My Refuge and My Fortress

91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long lifrwill I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

I've also gained quite a bit of weight lately, about 25 pounds in the last few months. It's one of the reasons I wanted off the gabapentin. The 25 pounds wouldn't have been quite so bad if I hadn't already been about 70 pounds overweight to begin with. It's very hard finding the motivation to go out and be active, especially since it's been so hot. I need to dust of the treadmill and stop making excuses before it gets the best of me.

When I was on Lyrica I gained 30lbs in a couple months. I had to go off it. It is hard to loose weight with limited activity. I managed to lose 20lbs. Its comming off really slow. I have had to change my eating habits. I stopped buying junk food.

Although, we share a home with my mom. She keeps her snacks in her room to help us from being too tempted. There is a container of dark chocolate M&M's. My weakness.............

I have a handful a day. Yuuuummmmmm.

I gained 40# in the 5 months after my daughter died in Nov 2010, I was already 50# more than my doctor wanted. My A1c was under control before then too, now it's all over the map. I know why, I'm prone to self destruction and I "forgot" insulin shots "forgot" to test, "forgot" other meds, and lived on muffins and big macs. Thinking back, I really didn't care if I died, losing her was too much and I still cry when I talk about her. I'm raising her daughter and it took Bryanna telling me she couldn't lose me too for me to start paying attention.

My dr and I are working closely together to get the weight down, I've identified my worse times, late night. I've substituted food with ice during that time and have seen an 8# loss in 7 weeks. I've also started water aerobics 3 rimes a week, well, at least 2 times a week. I carefully measure food, count carbs and take the shots in good time, when I feel like a muffin, my husband brings me 1, not 12. I also asked dr to put me on a low dose of thyroid med in an attempt to ramp up my thyroid which, in theory will make some of the other glands work more efficiently. I go back for labs in 2 months, so we'll see if these efforts work. Anyway, water and ice are the only real changes I made between weigh ins and I lost 8#, it's worth a try.

BTW, I tend to ramble or share too much, just ignore it.

"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.” - Washington Irving

My med list is in my profile.
