MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

I am all out of friends. I had one local friend left who would still do things with me. We had plans yesterday to meet up at the Taste of Chicago. She didn't come, hasn't called, nothing. I check my Facebook to see that she is at home, letting her two year old post nonsense on Twitter. I'm sure that was so much more thrilling than spending an afternoon with me. Then today my best friend from out of town sends me a text that she was just at the Taste and she is so full. Um, thanks for inviting me, b#@)*.

So perishes my last remaining friendships. I don't know if I'm mad or sad.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV.

well I would rather have it like that then having someone pretending for a full year to be my friend than not being my friend at alll. and that happened more than once in my life

I can totally relate to you. I am SO sorry I know how devistating it feels at first but later when you look back "if" you aren't able to mend the friendships you will see they didn't deserve your loving friendship and were not true friends to begin with. I've been down that road and was always the caring shoulder to cry on, the fun friend to hang out with until I needed the shoulder or just couldn't be as fun it all ended. I know we all aren't local but we understand and we are here for you. Vent as much as you need! Love and Hugs, Stacey Wink

You mention always being the caring shoulder to cry on, that's how I feel! Ever since I was in school, even people that were not nice to me in front of others would come to me with their problems. Lately I've realized that even the ones who were nice, who I thought were my friends, were still just using my shoulder. Now I need someone and nobody's there. It's a rough spot. I don't meet a lot of new people here on my couch. I'm glad I found you guys, because you understand.

That's exactly what I told my husband one day was how am I ever going to have a "local" friend again when I live on my couch and in bed? My drs used to ask if I had friends lol they gave up asking that long ago. Most times I don't care but then other times I wish I had a friend I could call whenever I just wanted to sit and have a cup of tea or something but I know it has to go both ways and I don't have the energy for a friend anyway. My hubby is my best friend along with my daughters. Wink Good enough for me!

I hope you feel better soon, I know it does suck but you are a tough cookie you will be ok. I promise!

I don't know WHAT I would do without all of you guys either and my friends from my other groups. MDJ has been a God send for me. Smile Hang in there. Hugs

Sadly I know exactly what you mean, most of my so called"friends" left me behind long ago. Now my best friend who is like a sister no longer has time to talk on the phone, IM, or even, shockingly, e-mail me. I'm sorry that you have ot suffer the loss of those who you thought were your friends. I'm just grateful for my online friends/family here without all of you I would have no friends, ok maybe one or two who still talk to me. I agree with you and Stacey it is difficult to make friends from your couch and since I rarely leave my house people have to come to me. From my couch to yours sending big hugs and hoping to become a new friend.

A big hug for you, I know how it feels too, I'm right now quite lonely as well, and I have had "friends" in the past who we always there when they needed something and then dissapearing when I did...it's a very frustrating feeling, it not only leaves you with the whole of the lost friendship, but also of all the time you spent thinking that you had a friend and wasn't true....

I can only say, we are here for you, no matter how far aways we are, we'll always be close by when you need us Laughing

Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes!

you have the right to feel sad or mad even both..

we all have alot to give if one gets the help then some of this suffering is worth it..

remeber I am not a doctor I just say what I think
