MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

I've tried Lyrica... the side effects did me in and I was unable to continue.

Now my dr wants me to try Cymbalta but I've read some really bad things about it having some pretty nasty side-effects.

I've also read the Cymbalta and Savella are very close in nature so I'm not that keen to try it either.

At present I am on no fibro drugs at all and haven't been for years. I'm afraid of taking something that may or may not help me but could possibly lead to something worse.

I'm hoping you will be able to tell me what you are taking, how it is helping you and if you are suffering any side-effects that have you worried.

I realize there is probably a price to pay to get fibro liveable... but I'm not sure how much I want to pay - phyically and mentally.

I'd also be interested in finding out what you might be doing 'naturally' to help yo with fibro as well.

Thanks,

Tema....stop the fear. There is no possible way to know how you are going to react to something until you yourself try it.

I'd be willing to bet that not one of us here takes the same meds and dosages as anyone else. Fibro is such a personalized disease.

But please....stop your fear. Don't be worried about something that has not happened to you. Worrying does nothing but cause wrinkles. It is not productive. It could well be that Cymbalta and/or Savella could be your own personal miracle med. You won't know until you try.

Now, for me, I had bad reactions to Lyrica, but I survived them and was quickly changed to Cymbalta. I get only a smidgeon of relief from the Cymbalta...hardly enough to even notice. I only tried about half of my titration pack of the Savella. In those first few days, I could not tell if there was any relief. But I could tell that, up until that point, I had no side effects whatsoever.

We cannot fear Fibro or the meds that treat it. We must be proactive in our own pain control. We should eagerly try the next best thing to see if it will be the right one.

So....no more fear of the un-tried, okay? Wink
