MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

For the past 1 or 2 years I've been experiencing more and more abdominal bloating, and it's the upper abdominal bloating that scares me the most. I'm now being tested for celiac disease and have started to realize that I must be lactose intolerant and use Lactaid products now before I consume any dairy. I am still avoiding cheese as much as possible because I think it was making me worse.

Do any of you other there also suffer from abdominal bloating....and if so, what was your diagnosis for this?

I have that problem but it doesn't seem to be anything serious. I will be able to button my pants in the morning and by 10:30 it feels like I need 2 more inched around the waist and belly. Don't know what causes it. Mostly I carry any fat around the middle but still, it doesn't explaine the bloating. I am not lactose intolerant and I don't have pain with it thankfully, except for my hurt pride. Tongue

I'm wondering if it is just another thing that this ogre Fibro may cause. seems ridiculous though.

It just came to me that I don't think we have met. Smile Is this your first post in the Fibro Challenges group? Welcome to the group regardless!

Happy to have you here. Smile

firstly, welcome to the group mama99care!

i've always had this for as long as i can remember be i guess not severe enough to see a doc about it. have heard a lot of fibromites complain of it too.

glad that you're being tested for celiac disease and also that you're taking not of your intolerance to dairy. when do you get your results back?

i guess i would wait to find out about that and then go from there.

let us know what you find out!

and.......... welcome to the group

Welcome to our fibro "family" mama99cares!!

This is a wonderful site and it has been a Godsend to me. When I joined I was in deep depression after another diagnosis to join the others, I had already had for quite some time.

I personally have a lot of bloating, however I blame mine on the three bowel diseases that I have. I have systemic lupus as well as the fibro, and many other problems, so it is very hard to distinguish where each of my symptoms come from.

Sorry I can't really give you an answer on that, but someone might come along saying they have those symtoms without having other illnesses.

I look forward to getting to know you better, so kick back, relax and make yourself at home.

Welcome hugs~

Christine

Welcome to the group! I have this problem too though I don't think I'm lactose intolerant. I wake up fine but like Karen, after a couple of hours things get bad. I do have some ibs but the bloating seems to have gotten bad since this flare started. I have found very little to help except lots of water and staying away from the really bad foods/drinks. I hope it isn't always this way for any of us. Have a better day today than yesterday!

Hugs

Thanks for all the replies! I do think that some of the supplements I was taking added to the bloating issue and am restarting them one at a time to see if any are guilty of this. I'm waiting to see if I tested positive or negative for celiac disease which was biopsied during my endoscopy.

BluePhoenix~I would like to do that with all of the meds I take which are 37 per day. I am not happy about taking all those pill, but my docs tell me I need them all. I am sure I couldn't get off my heart meds, and not blood pressure, but could probably lower blood pressure pills-maybe, I would like to try, but they say I am too high risk for heart attack and stroke and that those are a definte no.

I (if you don't mind) would be curious to see if your supplements make a change as you introduce them back into you diet.

Hug~
