jaguar62"Here's a success story for you ,, there was this poor guy who all he ever did was work his butt off day in and day out, and would settle for no less than perfection which caused him to somewhat be an outcast among his peers.

But then people around him started to notice that failure wasn't an option and this guy could really get things moving in the direction they were supposed to go so when they had an issue they would hesitantly ask for assistance at first.

But as time went on more and more people started getting referred to him. Before you knew it he was recognized and he had a top executive job,Escalation Supervisor of the whole Eastern Coast of United States for a communications company was staying busy like he loved to do and helping people along the way and life was excellent, good salary and benefits ,loved going to work "everyday".

Then one day (it was a period of time ) it was over ...seemed like it disappeared in an instance (after being diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease at the age of 49) and it stayed that way forever it seemed and life was slowly deteriorating around him ..depressed , no motivation, no job, health issues getting progressively worse much faster than just Parkinson and then being told it has possibilities of being MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy) well seeing as i wasn't working i started checking out sites online and just so happened on MDJunction and the Parkinsons Support Group and absolutely loved the forums and feed back from the GLs and found out it wasn't just poor me at all, it was lots of wonderful people who shared the same symptoms that i was and still am going thru every day but in a whole lot better more positive frame of mind . So after about a year of posting and reading the forums daily and meeting so many good people I knew i wanted to give back some of this well needed love that i had received , So I applied for a Group Leader Position and ...

I had a "new job" and its helping people as well as getting the necessary help I now require and I can do it 24 hrs a day if i want to ..HOW GOOD IS THAT .

THATS MY SUCCESS STORY/Testomonial
OH Yeah!I almost forgot the best part is the wonderful fellowship around the workplace,,

MDjunction has opened my eyes and offered me a new beginning to what was looking like a very dark end. thanks MDJ (and yes i do know where I would be without you.)

Hey guys,

I'm currently in a dilemma, I've just been offered a part time contract with a newish job that I've been working which is great.

The only problem is working leaves me crazily tired the next day and is effecting my ability to complete my studies... It is also making is pretty much impossible to have a life outside of either of these as due to the tiredness I'm also getting other sicknesses such as flues ect all the time.

Should I just stick the job out or would it be better to focus on my studies?

May we all find that little place to snuggle up to and feel safe, the one place where we can truly be and forget about all our troubles

Morning Lilli Smile Hard to advise not knowing your finances, but if you can survive with just your studies, I would suggest that. Your health is of utmost importance, and also the education will make it easier down the line to support yourself.

If your immune system is suffering from the extra work and possibly all the stress, it might be wise to cut back on the load. Also hope you can get tested for immune deficiency just to be on the safe side

Hope you are resting as I write.Smile

Sending best wishes and hugs for you,

Karen

Thanks Karen!

I think you might be right with putting my health first and studies first.

I think I should be able to get some payments from the government as I study so I should be able to survive on those till I finish the study I think.

Also I'm off too the doctors tomorrow to get checked out for this dreadful cough I have so I might bring the immune deficiency to her to be safe like you said!

No point adding extra stress haha!

Thanks so much for the advice!

Hi Lilli, I agree with Karen, your health comes first and then your studies. If the extra work is making more stress for you I would just stick with what you are doing as long as it doesn't put you in a financial bind. Hope the best for you and hope you will be feeling better soon. Hugs, Ann Smile

Hi Lilli~

Welcome to our family first, I must have somehow missed meeting you. My name is Christine and I am one of the co-leaders with the twom fine women that wrote above me, Karen and Ann. This is a super group and I know you will come to love it here.

I must say that I agree with both Karen and Ann. It is a great idea to bring the auto-immue problem up with your doc just to be sure. I have systemic lupus which is an auto-immune disease, plus the fibro and other things, so it never hurts to have it ruled out.

It definitely sounds like that passing on the job right now might be the best choice, if you can get some funds to pay for school now. It's not a good idea to compromise your health for a little extra cash right now, Focusing on college right now, sounds like the best thing for you to do right now, however, you have to be the one that makes the final decision.

Again, welcome. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome Hugs and Good Luck at your appointment~

Christine

Thanks for the warm welcome Christine!

Sorry it took so long to respond to you, but I did end up choosing to pass up on the job and good thing I did because I'm in the middle of a flare up haha...

But I definatly think it was the best option to choose, like you said your health is not worth a bit of extra cash.

I realised that what is the use of money when you'll never be able to even enjoy life enough to use it if your health no longer exists?

May we all find that little place to snuggle up to and feel safe, the one place where we can truly be and forget about all our troubles

Good morning Lilli, Smile Happy to hear you will be putting your health and then your studies first! But the thing that helps the most sometimes is just coming to a decision, no matter what that may be. Sitting on the fence too long can get pretty tiring, (not to mention your butt hurtsTongue)

Hope you can now enjoy school and daily life more since deciding. You are so right when you say what good is money if you can't be healthy enough to enjoy the things it will provide. Plus, the icing on the cake is......education = more $$$. Laughing

Hugs, <3 Karen

Hi Lilli~

I am happy to hear of your decision. We all have to make our own decisions, but I definitely agreed with Karen and Ann, and more education = more money on the job when school is complete.

Keep us posted and let us know how things are going. I will love hearing how you are doing with school. Great choice Lilli, I am very proud of you and happy for you.

Gentle Hugs~

Christine
