I don't have good days any more but I get good hrs through out the day and for that I'm extrimly gratfull.

I don't know if this subject was cover or not but I will write it anyway..Please keep in mind that this might not be a big deal to u but it is to me...so please have ur mind open.

Here I go..It,s funny that recently all doctors who are supposedly researching fibro and fatigue are saying that this is a neurological syndrome ,where the brain's sensation receptors are overactive. Well, they should read some of the posts I have read. No one says anything about "Why we react so strongly to weather???"

Any input will be apriciated .Thank u.

I believe it is the Barometric Pressure. Google it and maybe it will have some information. Just a suggestion but I really do think that the Barometric Pressure has a lot to do with pain and aches and all that yucky stuff!

Weather

Everyone loves it when it's sunny and bright outside. The sun feels good on your skin, bones, and muscles, and a bright sky can really lift your spirits. Few of us look forward to the rain or snow, or having to dealing with rapid changes in weather. But weather changes can be even worse for fibromyagia sufferers, triggering painful symptoms and worsening headaches, muscle aches, and depression.

There is no real proof that weather can actually affect the symptoms of fibromyalgia, but the majority of fibromyalgia sufferers identify weather changes as a major trigger for their pain. In a 1981 study, over 90% of participants identified weather as a major contributor to their symptoms. In particular, cold, damp, or humid weather seemed to make fibromyalgia symptoms worse. Increases in barometric pressure have also been linked to fibromyalgia symptom flares.

In order to reduce the effect that weather changes have on your symptoms, be prepared! Dress warmly and avoid drafty corners and rooms. If possible, install bright lights in your home to help "trick" your body into thinking that it's sunny. If the weather is really taking it's toll on you, you may consider moving to a warm, dry climate.

I think it is all related anyway since the barometric pressure changing is what makes the weather changes. And when it is a rapid change like when the seasons begin to change or a big storm develops it is even worse.

I am with you Karen, I know for me when we have bad weather coming in or the seasons change the symptoms magnify tenfold. It seems like symptoms are a little better in the warmer weather but I still have nasty unpredictable flares.

weather and season changes is a big part of fibro for most of us. I live in Fl. and hurricane season is the worst for me. Something to do with the pressure change I have been told by docs. I was first DX in the begining of hurricane season 7 yrs. ago
