Has anyone received a disability placard for Fibro? If so, was it a challenge to get? I have always parked in the farthest parking spot to get the extra exercise, but now my mobility is getting worse.

Just wondering.

Kook, Yes, have a disability parking card(UK)- managed to receive this easily as soon as received Higher Rate Disability Living Allowance. It was a big challenge to obtain prior to getting Higher Rate DLA- could not convince them that was worthy enough yet as soon as phoned them up to say have Higher Rate DLA- as soon as was accepted for this benefit- they said Yes straight away.

Kook- sure hope you will manage to get this parking permit soon as it sure has made a huge difference to my life- made it much easier for me, for sure!!

Kook- let us know your progress please. Hope many people here will answer you- too!

Sending you gentle big hugs this morning, love Clarita Smile

Kook, I did get a placard for Fibro. I just told my dr. one day in passing how hard it was for me to push the basket very far to my car at Walmart, and he asked me if I wanted a placard. Of course I said yes and he just filled out a form for me to take to the DMV. It was that simple. I couldn't believe it! The irony is that after my hubby's heart attacks, his dr. authorized a family one.

Hope you can get one as easily. Just tell your dr. you need one. It's not tied into disability payments here in the U.S. that I know of.

Best of luck!

I have a temporary(runs out in June) but my doc gave to me more for the arthritis, though the fibro causes a lot of my problems as well. she did a temp one cause she is hopeing that I would find a treatment that worked by then(no such luck so far).

It's all up to the doc, as long as they sign the little paper authorizing it the state will give it to you.

My dx: Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's syndrome, Degenerative disc disease, 2 herniated discs, Endometriosis, TMJ, IBS, Costocondritis, bipolar, and possible Anklydosis Spondylitis.

Thanx so much for your input. I am trying hard, but I am beginning to hurt more and more.

But, but, but..."YOU DON'T LOOK SICK!"

yeah, I know ... but I AM sick.

Hugs to u all and thank you. Am I about to make another call to the Dr? Yes. But, I have to say I got the nicest email from the CMA that works for my doc saying she knows how I feel and to "hang in there". Her mother had Fibro, so I just thank God that she's the one that gets all of my messages and is sympathetic and understands my concerns/struggles.

Loves and Hugs! They're both free so take all you need
