I am a new member today. I take Savella for my fibromyalgia and have been doing pretty good. I changed my eating habits completely and have been eating only healthy foods. I eliminated High Fructose Corn Syrup, White enriched flour, sweeteners, unhealthy prepackaged foods. I have been feeling very strong and doing well, so much that I thought I didn't have CFS and Fibromyalgia anymore. It's back as of two days ago. First started the achiness, then the feverish flu like symptoms, now everything hurts and I feel like I can't possible hold my head up for very long. Is it possible to get rid of this. I have been eating spinach everyday, a complete bag full. I love it. I have been eating hempseed, flaxseed and eating everything that I should. Ugh, has anyone known anyone who got rid of fibromyalgia and CFS. I just can't handle that I can't fix this. Am I wrong? Sorry to be such a downer, but I am just so disappointed.

Jill

Hello Jill and welcome to the group, i understand your frustration. I dont believe there is cure for fibro or chronic fatigue, but we can live with it , the savella should help, and eating right is so very important, one thing as a warning there is alot of iron in spinache and you must realize that too much iron is dangerous, so i would be cautious, what helps me is to eat right, and i dont and i am paying for it now, i got into a sweets caraving and i ate alot of sugary stuff, and no salads or nothing, so now i am sick, so i wish i could tell you there is a cure for this but clearly there isn't Believe me so many people feel like you do including me, I take pain pills for my pain, so i am able to stand the fibro pain and my other ailments much easier, i wish you love and i hope you enjoy our group, it is yours now too so please feel free to post whatever you would like and this wonderful group will respond, you take care ,Love Debi group GL
i am not a medical professional or a counselor, please seek a doctors opinion, and seek professional counseling, my opinions are my own and not professional, please use common sense and get appropriate care by a professional. Thanks i am not being rude just responsible. Thanks Debi

Thank you for the welcome Deb. I have a bad iron deficiency. I was at one time taking 1000 mgs. of iron per day. I had a bone marrow biopsy and it determined that I had plenty of iron stored, so they took me off of it. When i get my blood tests done it shows very low iron. I also have a B12 deficiency and get injections once a month for that. I would think if I had an iron issue it should be gone. I cook the spinach just very lightly. My family calls it wilted spinach, and it is delicious. My friend reminded me that before I could barely get out of bed and that I was in a constant state of pain. I am thankfully not dealing with that now. I am sure that the good nutrition is helping. I can't have much suger or I really hurt, sweetners really set it off, and MSG, well that is a disaster. I have been using Stevia. I don't know if that's what's causing this flare up, or if I will ever be able to drink anything other than water. You just never know what causes it. I am sorry to complain I have been very fortunate to not hurt for a few months. I haven't had any pain medication, but I am tonight. Thank you again for the welcome, and I hope you feel better soon!!!!

All "natural palm sugar" (IMO) is better than stevia. I like that you are having success with natural solutions. I think that any kind of stimulants will exagerate your symptoms...at least this is what I am finding for myself.

Welcome to the forum, RobbSmile

Hello Jill and welcome to the group! So sorry that your FM is flaring up. I certinaly wish I had your resolve when it comes to diet. I dont eat healthy, and Ive found as My FM has gotten worse, that my diet has become worse,I dont have the energy to make myself healthy meals or snacks. I used to eat healthy, fruits, veggies,I exercised. Now of course that all has changed. There is no cure for FM,only "management". And I use that term losely. I know FM effects us all differently, some are mildly effected, while others are very effected. It sounds like you are doing a lot of great things for yourself and your health. To go a few months without any pain is a wonderful thing,I havent had a pain free day in five years. Maybe something else is causing the flare up. Of course stress is a big trigger for some, lack of sleep. Im sure you know all of these things. Im sure I would be frustrated too if I were you,and had been doing so well for so long, and then have the beast rear its ugly head again. You are in my prayers,I hope you recover quickly.
